But that goes a long way in some circles esp. considering the G4 camera is in a league of it's own. LG is truly smart for making one thing their "own." Though I think the spec that will matter and be most important in the future is time to shutter i.e. if your phone has to take ten seconds to fire the shutter on your big phone camera, whatever it is you are trying to grab is over already. Who cares if the pictures are beautiful if they are not there to begin with!

Good news indeed. Hope no bad news such as non removable battery and no micro SD.
Put the speaker on the front and it'll rock.

Glad to see flagship phone manufacturers finally paying attention to sensor size (instead of just relatively meaningless megapixels). Sensor size is possible the most important aspect in camera quality and yet phones are way behind the times.
The point about the Nokia 808 and its huge 1/1.2 sensor is not that it's "ancient history" as this article says (although I still know people who use it and love it for the camera). The point is that the 808 is more than three years old and yet current "flagships" remain far behind it. Heck, the Nokia N93 introduced the 1/3 sensor almost ten years ago and "flagships" only in the last year as a rule strated to surpass that with 1/2.5 sensors. And the Nokia N82 had a 1/2.5 sensor a full eight years ago.
So basically, standard flagship sensor size today is equivalent to eight year old technology in Nokia's original smartphones (before even the era of the touchscreen). Even the iPhone has hugely lagged in this era. The real "ancient" history is the sensor technology that's still be passed off as an advance in current flagship phones. The upcoming LG G5 included. I'm glad to see it have a bigger sensor, but it's still old technolgy.

no phone yet can compete with nokia lumia series camera, specially 1020 , 808 and lumia 930. pureview is just way too good. simple test to prove-- click any pic and zoom it to the end--- u will find the difference. or put it in ur laptop (fhd) and c the results results of photography urself and compared to any phone out there

Let's hope they do not merely focus on a lone aspect of this upcoming flagship. I mean G4 is great but its camera is the lone flagship worthy feature. Besides the price at the time of its release wasn't really justified, taking into consideration specs of other brands.

Just don't copy Apple like Samsung is doing. MicroSD and swappable batteries will be the keys to beating Samsung. We don't need glass backs and curved screens. Much rather have fingerprint sensor and NFC.

I have G2 for 2 years which I love as a spare phone. Feels perfect in size when typing. Better than G3 and G4 in a way I can't really describe.
Was using S5, Zenfone, Sony Z2 and Note 4 but still the perfect feeling when using G2 is incomparable.
G2 is like the best phone in android platform.
I should probably get another G2 as stock since I can't get that great experience in G3 and G4. Crazy ? Maybe... But if you ever try to use G2, you'll be back in this page and share a good comment.

Did you see shots from 1020? Only FHD (including 808) capable phone with the same amount of detail in video shots like others got in 4k. See for yourself on this site. Great camera performance in nokia-lumia-microsoft mobiles is not history. Soon comes new 950, and 1050 will come later in january, probably late so can put to shame all others available flagships.

I love phones with large sensors. I still have n8, 1020 with me, though I missed out the 808. I will never mind to carry a 15mm hump behind my mobile as long as it carries a very good sensor and optics. Take my money if it beats 1020. I have seen a lot of people complaining about the camera being slower and missing white balance. White balance issue shall be adjusted using manual controls as well as taken care during editing RAW. I always can wait for 5 longer seconds to take a proper shot rather than some crappy pictures that come out of low shutter to shutter. ( I am not saying iPhones are producing craps ;)). I was very happy with the way LG g4's camera module with its colour spectrum sensor. Hopefully g5 beats 1020

copy23, 23 Sep 2015and you need a brain! dont say sht...all know LG is better ... more"LG go @ home... need batery life ... no shit camera, or cpu or 2k,4k display"
1) i'm still looking for a Samsung reference in that comment. I mean you rant about him being a Samsung fan, yet he mever mentioned Samsung.
2) It's difficult to tell with that degree of broken english, but i think he might be actually rooting for LG! If he's korean he's saying "go LG", that they have good battery life, good camera, and don't need a gizillion ppi because their screens are great. Who knows?
