Anonymous, 25 Sep 2015And yet, it doesn't do more. So what's the point? No it doesn't.... It does DIFFERENT but not MORE. How many times have you been told your phone is using up 75% of its internal memory because certain select apps can't be moved to an SD card, effectively rendering the additional storage useless? How many times have you tried to download an app only to find out it's not compatible with your specific device (Despite your device being a brand new flagship)? How many times have you downloaded an app only to have it crash every time you try and open it? How many times have you had a pop up open explaining that some app in the background you used ten days ago had crashed?

The iPhone is not superior to Android flagships, but it's also not inferior to them. As much as I hate to admit it, it's true.

Anonymous, 26 Sep 2015LOL! Android only has a slight edge in multi tasking? LOLO... moreFor $200 you can get an Android device with: an inferior processor (Proven with benchmarks and daily use), an inferior camera sensor, a fragmented version of Android (Which probably won't be upgraded to the next version, therefore updates are useless to the average consumer), a bloated, slightly customised menu depending on the manufacturer, a poorer quality screen (Not counting pixels), lower internal storage (Which is still awful even with an SD card, not all apps can be moved onto it as I have painfully found out with my Z2) and no guarantee it can run all the apps in the Play store. I don't see how you can compare the two :/

And sorry no. It does not deserve to be compared to something beyond a $200 Android. Because you can get a $200 Android that is overall a much better device.

It is perfect, but If you deduct exclusive materials and make this phone as usual flagship it would be just right. Normal screen size with normal resolution (no useless 2K here), sapphire crystal, front facing speakers, good camera, good battery, powered with top of the line CPU and 4Gb of RAM. And SD Card slot. What else do you need?

Heshtios, 24 Sep 20151) The new iPhone uses a processor specifically made to wor... more"1) The new iPhone uses a processor specifically made to work with iOS, Android phones use a multitude of processors designed to work with any operating system."

The iPhone CPU is an ARM processor much like most Android CPUs are ARM processors. At best it's iOS that is made to work better with that specific model of CPU, not the other way around.

"3) There's a much greater difference between a Sony Xperia Z2 and a Samsung Galaxy S6 than between an iPhone 5s and an iPhone 6s"

It's called evolution and making your upgrade worthwhile. You should try it, it's fun.

"4) OEMs customise Android to shit and have to tailor it almost at a device level, meaning many devices get left behind in terms of software updates."

Tailor at device level? That's the hardware, the thing we knew beforehand they had to "taylor"!
Not that you are wrong in the general idea, just found the phrasing curious.

"5) The iPhone 6S has more RAM now because it is necessary for iOS going forward. My Windows PC has 9GB of RAM, does that mean it has poorer multitasking compared to a 16GB machine? Not really, because next to nothing needs that much memory on Windows."

                            Yes it does, by definition.
Poorer is a relative measure, not an absolute one. It doesn't perform *poor*, but does perform *poorer*. Multitasking-wise, whatever 9GB can do, 16GB can do *better* (another relative measure).

                            It's called grammar.

Users complaining that their iPhones have slowed down after updating to the latest iOS 9 software may not be imagining it.

The new iOS 9 operating system works on models from 2011’s iPhone 4s onwards, with the company claiming that more than 50% of iOS users had already installed the update within a week of its release.

However, some users of Apple’s official discussion forums are already criticising the impact on their older handsets.

Videos from vloggers iAppleBytes directly comparing the latest iOS 9.0.1 software to iOS 8.4.1 running on an iPhone 4S, 5 and 5S have also demonstrated a noticeable amount of slowdown with the new update.

iOS 9 compared to iOS 8 on an iPhone 4S.
The smartphones take longer to start up, camera performance is slower, as is launching apps and switching between them.

Some actions take a very similar amount of time, particularly on the newer iPhones. The performance of Apple’s virtual assistant Siri actually seems to be slightly faster, although some users within Apple’s forums have disabled Siri’s new app prediction features in an attempt to speed up the rest of the phone.

The issue of new software slowing down older phones is familiar to smartphone owners. New features demand more resources from the device, and can therefore slow down normal operations and affect battery life.

iOS 9 compared to iOS 8 on an iPhone 5.
Some updates – Google’s Android Lollipop in 2014 for example – focus on performance and optimisation, and can actually improve the speed of the smartphone or tablet they are installed on.

This does not appear to be the case with iOS 9, although in other ways, it has been one of the smoothest annual updates for Apple’s devices.

On its release in 2014, iOS 8 caused issues for people upgrading because it demanded a 5GB of free of space meaning many had to delete music, apps and photos from their devices just to install the update.

Apple corrected the issue with iOS 9 requiring under 1.5GB of space, and providing support for smaller applications, but its impact on the speed of older devices is evident.

While some users will try and avoid updating to the latest version of iOS, it could put them at risk of security vulnerabilities and will eventually stop being supported by the latest apps, making an upgrade inevitable at some point.
