sam, 28 Sep 2015Is Indian government that useless and behind in technology ... moreIndia has its own telecom operators and they are more than capable to implement such basic services. Modi Just want to grab some headlines in Indian papers and poor Indians fall for such gimmicks. First PM to travel the world and begg corporates. Normally a strong nation just dectates terms to corporates . e.g china.

Now you will find people loitering around train stations to use the free Wi-Fi causing more pain and security problems for the travellers.

sam, 28 Sep 2015Is Indian government that useless and behind in technology ... moreWell, I see that 'races' play part here. The CEO of both Google and Microsoft is Indian. Google CEO, Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella probably just want to look good for their home country. In world perspective, we see it as racial discrimination as Google and Microsoft don't seem to want to help other undeveloped country with poor internet access and only help India.

Is Indian government that useless and behind in technology that they have to rely on Microsoft and Google to provide internet access to Indian people?
Digital Indian initiative is another way of luring Indian voters .

Gsmarena, it will be 30 minutes high speed then slow speed like say 64kbps, and you pay google to get high speed again.

btw high speed broadband services without FUP are available here in India, at kolkata alliance broadband gives you 3mbps connectivity for rs 2499 with 10 mbps night speed and 45mbps peering, no FUP

providing full wifi access to small country more easier than to a big country like india.
