A brief look at the history of smartwatches

While there has always been this belief that smartwatches are more of a fashion statement than useful products, the fact that they have been in existence for decades now suggests that the product category has managed to capture at least some of the public's imagination. With Apple launching its Apple Watch earlier this year, and companies like Samsung and Huawei following up with their own offerings, we thought it’s a good time to take a brief look at the history of smartwatches to give you an idea about how the market has evolved with time.

    I know I'm late to the party, but with such great articles like this one it would be better if you could release a BETA version of the article and then wait for the users to correct/add some devices to your already exhaustive list.
    I see you forgot Sony Ericsson Live View (already mentioned in comments) and you mentioned MotoACTV and Casio JC-11, but forgot the new Polar / Garmin offerings.

            I knew about most of the above watches ( okay not the old ones ), so I for the most part enjoyed reading about Casio, as it is really interesting and different from the usual samsung/apple/lg/sony thing.
