this device is good enogh for everyone, all specs i dont think any one use the whoile ram and power of the device using apps like fb,wassp, insta, twitter wich is everybody daily use,.....there is no game using more than 1 gb of ram....battery life well we expect google to comply with the doze mode... there was rumor saying that nexus 5 2013 is able to x3 battery life in standby wich is perfect because it means much more on screen time....standby battery preservation is the key....... im happy with my lg g2 i dont feel i should change it for a long maybe when it damages ill look for another options ..but my phone runs everything and i dont feel it is bad compared to currents only thing i know is not the best but not the worst........

Ibrahim, 29 Sep 2015As there is more tax here so I would say keep margin of abo... moreYeah I was just going by the previous entries (the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 Tablet) being more expensive than the usual Nexus products.

The Nexus 4 & 5 were the success's they were due to their low price tags and I think Google would do well to try to get back to that marketing strategy. I just have my doubts they will.

Not interested in the 6P either, agree it is too big just, I think Nexus phones should be 'mainstream' sized devices to ensure maximum appeal (4.7-5.2 inch is right for this).

I actually quite liked the Note 4, but yes Touchwiz has flaws aplenty , it's the new 2015 direction Samsung seems to be heading that I don't agree with. Had two Galaxy S6's earlier in the year, worst battery performance I have ever experienced on a smartphone.

I sold Note 4 2 days I bought it. Hated it and there is no change in touchwiz since GS3 that was the last Samsung I used.

Ibrahim, 29 Sep 2015Well I am in England so I'll see what will be the price aft... moreI am in Wales, and agree with you that at £250 it would be quite acceptable, I doubt though given how Google seems to have steered the Nexus line over the last year this will be the case. I think (though I can obviously be wrong about this) that the £400 region is more likely, which would put it against competition of superior calibre, Like the Z5 compact for instance (which I also criticised for having only 2gb ram) and the likes of the One M9 / Galaxy S6 and the LG G4 (a great device in my opinion) now that their prices have fallen.

Lets hope you are correct with the £250 thing, at that price this would be attractive option.

Ale, 29 Sep 2015Are you serious???? The reason for increased Ram is that... moreI think it is not just Google Nexus is like that price tags are overall gone very high. Look at Note 5, S6, iPhone, Xperia Z5 Premium not much changes but starting price is £650. That is insane!!

Waiting for 5 o'clock eagerly :-) Not looking forward for Marshmallow but hopefully chromecast rumours are true.

But yes I will not buy it for 1gb RAM. For people who require a good budget device with updates coming 2gb would be enough.

Why are even the smaller phones so big? My LG g2 is almost 1cm shorter with the same screensize... (138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9 mm).

No brand gives a sh*t about screen-to-body ratio anymore?

Ibrahim, 29 Sep 2015Yes it is technology evolution changes every month. Almost ... moreSmartphones will in the not to distant future most likely feature 10gb ram, and it won't end there. I'm talking about making a device as future proof as possible, and to that end, on Android at least, I believe the minimum at this price range is 3gb.

Let me put this to you another way, would you buy a Nexus phone (again at the price this one is said to be) today that had only 1gb of Ram???

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2015Give me 1 good reason why you require >2 GB RAM. I think... moreAre you serious????

The reason for increased Ram is that system and app requirements in this regard generally increase as they grow in complexity and new services are included.

Just look at the memory requirements of a particular app (facebook or something) and compare how it is now to how it was 2-3 years ago.

It's all well and good saying 'Learn to better manage your recourses', but what happens when the available recourses are just to restrictive. Remember 1gb RAM was once considered all you'd ever need in a smartphone, but would now go out and pay $400 for a phone with just 1gb Ram today??

These specs last year would have been acceptable (barely) but at the end of 2015 they are below par.

Almost every month there is a new device in the market. For that quick change and to fully secure YOUR future with a mobile phone you at least require 10Gb RAM my friend.

Obviously not playing with a full deck are you???

What I would be looking for (if I were interested in getting this device) was an indication that it was adequately 'future proof'. Most regular reader of sites like this will be power users, and whatever your thoughts maybe be on the matter (though by reading your previous response I'm gathering that forming coherent thoughts is difficult for you), You'll find that most would agree that 2gb is below par for new Android devices at the price this is rumoured to be.

                      This should have been 3gb!

                      Oh and bloody hello yourself!!!!

Oh cmon... 2 gb ram is okay, but non expendable storage with only 16/32gb options are ridiculous for 2015. At least make 64gb option.

Google have confirmed there is NO wireless charging in either 5x or 6, which is a huge mistake. I recently bought a 2013 Nexus 5 and LOVE it, and have 3 wireless chargers - two LG docks and a pad. Great to have the phone sit in the docks at work and home desk, and put phone on the pad at night. Lack of wires also reduces strain on the device.

So, I'll keep the 2013 model and wait for Google to undo this error in 2016 or wait for the Note 5 to hit the UK.

This is better that is bad come on why just you guys do not accept it. If you can't why don't you try and build your own phone for yourself with your own needs Android is a free platform :-).

Comment on the device is good but comparing it to all other device will never take you anywhere.

I think its quite okay to have 2 GB RAM and anything in excess of that is marketing gimmick just like a 4K display on a smartphone. If you manage your RAM judiciously, 2GB for a smartphone is plenty. At really dont need to keep 3-4 super heavy games in memory, for example( If that is what you do, then as the games etc get heavier, even 4-6 GB RAM wont be enough for you).
