Those who are comparing this to Surface do not understand. This is a powerful TABLET! The keyboard is just a bonus IF you want it. This device meets my needs as a powerful tablet to be used only for games and media consumption on the sofa or in bed. I don't need a keyboard or stylus, I just want the most powerful Android tablet available to meet my said needs and that can last for a good few years. If the Pixel C and it's might Tegra X1 can run Football Manager Touch 2016 then I will buy it for sure!
You can compare this to Ipads and other tablets, but just because it has a keyboard OPTION doesn't mean you can compare it to laptops and Surfaces, Android vs Windows is stupid, totally different users and needs.

_V_, 30 Sep 2015RISC architecture will always be more energy efficient than x86That might have been an issue when transistor counts were in the millions (or hundred of thousands), but nowadays, with billions of transistors available, many of those used for dedicated chores (DSP for audio, video and modem, GPUs, crypto) it has become a non issue. OTOH, techniques like big.LITTLE may have a better chance to save power than an all big core SoC doing run-to-finish-then-sleep technology.

Finally a competition for intel. Intel and AMD stopped CPU development 5y ago. Now we have some competition.
91W i7 is only 3x more powerfull that 3W ARM CPU. If you downclock i7 and remove 2 cores to reah 3W is slower than ARM.

Wow the trend is changing...apple and google are copying microsoft...with the surface success.
Apple copies all other manufacturers and says they were the 1st to implement it...hahhaha.
