it actually works on other older Symbian v3 FP1 as well, such as my E51
install on the PC the OVI Suite instead of Nokia PC Suite, the OVI Suite will update the nokia maps v2 from the phone to ovi maps v3 which is the one with free navigation

Ovi still not workin in Linux e.g. Ubuntu, E71 not supported...good try, but why Nokia is not doing things properly and give support for Linux and Mac users. Wake up Nokia!

Excellent strategic move from Nokia. It looked like they were going under however this move might actually grab a lot of customers. I know that lack of gps and maps is a real deal breaker for some..well, having free navigation really is a deal maker then.
Very smart move, well done Nokia..however, your service still sucks big time and until you get it up to the expected standards you will carry on losing customers.

As for other brands, it does not work.
Here are list of all nokia phones, that OVI free navigation is working with:
Nokia X6, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia N97, E72, E55, E52, Nokia 6730 classic, Nokia 6710 Navigator, Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic, Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, Nokia 5230 (info from www.nokia.com)

Pics of these news are from old OVI maps, because on new, free version compass looks a little bit different and I havent seen it working yet.
Well about free navigation - it works perfect with my Nokia N52.
About Nokia N5800, it must be with navigation edition (Nokia N5800 NAVI), it may be the problem, it does not work for you.

It appear that Ovi Maps navigation isn't free for all Nokia's phones or at least isn't for Nokia N95 8GB.
Only the latest Nokia phones get it for free.
Disappointing....
