Sony Xperia Z5 has the best mobile camera ever tested by DxOMark

30 September, 2015
Just yesterday DxOMark added the Huawei Nexus 6P and its camera to its charts, and the new Google phone had some pretty impressive results. It climbed to the No.2 spot in the charts, behind only Samsung's Galaxy S6 edge.

Samsung has a camera bump because its thinner and the position of the sensor has always sat in the middle behind the display.

Sonys sits above the display in the corner where they can use basically the entire thickness of the device.
Try using your brain next time.

Finally Sony did it.... OIS is always better than DIS untill their is movable space for lens... In mobile DIS(if u perfectly manages it like Sony now) is suitable becoz of less space...

Yeah.... However back in reality comparisons already show otherwise.
Especially as far as stabilization goes.

Even ancient Nokia 808 PureView has better shooter. Don't believe in all this Sony marketing. The pitcures taken with Z5 are medicore at best.

                      ifone 6s won't has a chance...

Do they test devices with final-firmware? Because noise+artifacts are on level of G4, and that was not very good in the beggining, so if they do its better than what is here on gsma, othervise not...
Best 3 Z5 skills: Autofocus,Stabilization,Flash are better than rest of phones, but its steadyshot is one hell of stabilization - on the level of its focus speed...
Well, there is still note5, and maybe other phones like lumia. Yes, even with less points their big XXMp pictures looks great with such detail, and new are coming(950,1050)...

We all knew Sony made great cameras. They make cameras for other phones too after all.

Pretty sure most people can't tell the difference and see all the top phones as similar though :)

if this digital or phase stabilisation or steadyshot or whatever is called is a software thing, soud we expect them to apply this to older models ? can it be applied? because it seems to me that they could of done a better job with earlier models

DxOMark's job done and now waiting for GSMArena to put up the review :D

As for the iPhone 6s, I heavily doubt if it'll be able to overtake Nexus 6P.

The problem is there is not just one version of Steadyshot, on some Sony cameras is optical (lens or sensor based) on others its digital.

As far as I'm aware the Xperia line including the Z5 series have just digital stabilisation, just with the Steadyshot name attached.

Don't get me wrong though it appears very well executed. And it seems Sony are finally make by some positive progress with their (until now) disappointing Bionz processing.
