So it looks like I'm not gonna be getting marshmallow on my 2nd gen moto e. Going back to HTC then. Shame cos I really liked this phone, but a phone this new should get the up date. Want to know why it won't. Over to you Motorola!!!!!

I would not go for Motorola again as they are doing the same thing as they been doing from last many years.. the promise for making phone with fastest updates and first from google are not being fulfilled as they just dropped 2nd Gen Moto E and Moto X 2nd Gen Carrier versions.

I recently purchased my Moto E 2015 because Motorola has (now: had) the reputation of good update record. If I knew I was going to stick with 5.0.2, I would've purchased an LG Spirit for almost the same price and better specs (anyway I was going to remain on 5.0.x).

Software updates might have been a nice benefit 10 years ago, these days they are a necessity due to security concerns and compatibility issues with apps. I bought a Moto E 3 a few months ago which is apperently no longer supported: Definitely the last time I bought a Motorola product.

The only thing Lenovo's good for is SPYWARE !

Keep far away from their products ..... first SuperFish, then google "Lenovo Caught Using Rootkit to Secretly Install Unremovable Software" to read more, and there was another one in the last week or so that hardly made it onto the news (I heard about it on a podcast - think it was one of the Daily Tech News Show shows.).

It says the list is not final, the forums guy said only moto x on verizon and at&t won't get, not moto e.

And may I remind everyone that they are updating all their 2014-2015 phones except moto e first gen. If you look at their updates page, it says x 2013, g and e1 "will remain on Android 5.1", but for e 2015 it doesn't say that! So probably the update will be decided later on.

Regarding X...most moto x 2014 in the world will get 6.0, only two variants and it's the carriers to blame there.
