A new Stagefright vulnerability has been discovered and this time it looks even scarier

03 October, 2015
It seems the Stagefright storm hasn't quite passed after all. As most of you might remember, a few months ago a scary vulnerability in one of Android's core multimedia libraries was uncovered and found to affect almost every device powered by Google's OS, as early as 2.2 Froyo. Since then, there have been no reports of an actual exploit utilizing the bug, but, naturally, it gave the whole industry quite a scare, triggering a quick reaction from many OEM's like Motorola and Samsung, who issued emergency fixes.

"All things considered, we, as end-users, shouldn't really feel worried at this point." Yeah, after you scaring the hell out of Android users with the entire article plus the title. Duh??

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2015Android users just can't accept that their OS is more vulne... moreSorry...But here in reality the issue is that every time there is a security threat found in Android all you blind apple things like to run around and rant about security and how apple is so perfectly secure while android is so unsecure.
And completely deny that apple has it's security flaws and blow the android ones out of proportion.
                http://www.gsmarena.com/newscomm-14299.php

Just like trying to pretend that iOS is so perfectly smooth and never lags. As well as leaving out the dramatically higher number of app crashes iOS has out of that equation.
And again blow any amount of any seen on an Android out of proportion.

However it is pathetic and sad that we have to hope that hackers can use such drastic means to prey we get root on some devices.

Good to see people with no knowledge on this vulnerability throwing useless comments. Every operating system has an exploit. It just needs to be discovered. Exploits allows a user to root a device and like Apple, jailbreak their OS. Agreed, this is a security threat. But, these threats also exist in other OSes. If every hole is plugged, there would be no rooted devices, or jailbroken iPhones. Would be a bad thing for me.

Odd I Thought stagefright only affects android 4.1
Due to the OS read all message as it comes in and supposedly android fix that in KitKat. (In addition of screwing us with SD card permission XD)
Hey guys tell me what's going here ?

Motorola picked it quickly up with a fix?
Not really, in US the fixed stagefright but EU nobody got that fix for any Moto handset except the first Moto G.

the way i see it, this could open the door to easier root in devices that previously needed extensive work to access root.
here s hoping for one click root on 5.1.1 and soon 6.0!
