Do not forget it does not just end with manufacturing the phone. You have to include all manufacturing costs, parts, human labor, advertisement campaigns, research. They probably have x amount of teams working on different stuff like design, advertisement and so on and they all have to be paid. So when you sum up all, how LG VV10 has event some materials used and brand VERTU (one of the most expensive phone in the world, whose price goes over eight thousand dollars apiece). lg phones are made in Korea where it is much more expensive labor force than in China,. Chinese is easy to copy the phone from cheap and toxic and plastic and material. and sell for 100 200 Dollar, where children assemble phones in inhumane conditions, do not pay taxes, do not pay PATENTS

All phones are overpriced. This LG is worth 300-350 dollars or so. So is iphone 6s and S6 edge Note 5 etc. In china you get 50 100 dollar phones with 80% specs. COMPANIES HAVING 300% 400% PROFIT. Just like LCD TVs prices fell to sub 1000 dollar from 4000 5000 dollars for same screen size over years, so will be smart phone prices. Many dont even need smartphone.

there is no note where I am and edge is for 850€. If I had to choose btw note5 and v10, I would choose note5, not because its awesome. Because Im note user. Frankly I may wait for note6. If you are not note user v10 clearly wins with great videosettings and durable body. fu** the pay,.. Note got small memory and is very easy to break since its not just glass but even bended... only thing note is better is battery life...

Apple makes almost $150 per every phone sold, but that is mainly because their phones are cheaper than other flagship phones out there and they spend a lot on advertising to reach teenage girls and octogenarians (their 2 biggest demographics).
Samsung then makes about $30 profit on phones and you are right about the rest making even less, but there is always some profit involved, otherwise these companies would not exist anymore...

You have to take into account that Korean prices are higher when you just convert the currency. I can't seem to find the Korean G4 launch price, but this is pretty much the same or lower if I don't remember wrongly.
