This is a niche product, for a niche market, and is priced accordingly. There is no point comparing this to the likes of the Nexus 5X or 6P, as the BlackBerry Priv has been designed for completely different users inmind.

If you are going to compare, at least compare like for like, hardware, software and price, otherwise the comparision is moot.

it seems appropriate.. it's a badass phone with great specs and finally offering something different. Actually, i'd put a $800 tag and make it appear even more premium.

in my opinion, Blackberry makes some of the best smartphones around. In terms of both hardware and software. However, they always seem to be over priced at launch. I think a better strategy would have been to first get people onto the platform with budget and mid-speced devices, and then allow those customers to upgrade to these high end phones. Logically, high end devices won't keep them afloat at the moment. Competition at this level is rather stiff. Still, wish them all the best, wouldn't want to see them close their mobile units line.
