saurabh, 13 Oct 2015pple r bitching about the product quality dropping becz of ... moreWell, the product quality will drop.
It won't drop significantly though. The first batch would have people all puzzled and confused but as I know how we (Indian's) work, I know that this is going to change significantly very quickly.

And who cares what the west thinks :P
Imagine having the parts of your Oneplus products right at your finger tips.
Increased customer support. This is an amazing thing for us Indians. We shouldn't be rude and rash, rather we should be happy about it.

Woah woah woah woah WOAH people!
Those are really harsh words. To the company & even to the countries that house the company and the plants.
Yes I agree that really poor quality products do come out of the countries, but those products are made and built to a cost. They are built for a specific sector of the market to satisfy them.

What people do is try to cut costs.
Apple does the same. Your iPhone are made in the Foxconn factory in China under grueling and poor working conditions for profit purposes. Hence the 999$ price tag for the 128 GB.
Check the internet for how much the iPhone would have costed if it was made by the same amount of laborers and the same quality of material in the US.

India too manufactures some impeccable products.
    The Mercedes E-Class for example.
What about the cars that are made to a cost by Mahindra or Maruti Suzuki?

You cannot question somebody's product quality without using something that you should have bought for the price range that the competition was in.
The western world won't understand how important the Asian manufacturers are for their neighbours.
Being an Indian I think the "Made in India" thing is pretty selfish and self centered. At least what people think about it.
Learn before you preach. Preach only once you know what you have learned is right.

pple r bitching about the product quality dropping becz of shift from china to india is a very wrong argument. firstly indian products have never been labelled as cheap. india may have fewer brands but they dont tend to garner cheap or useless rip offs tag like the chinese counterparts. i really think the cost of production will drop due to their shifts and the reality is labor is cheap but much well trained to handle simple assembly procedures of OP. indias largest export is SKILLED man power(which is never heard of from chinese) and no one specially the developed countries who r bitching can deny the fact they r far better skilled, cheaper than their own locals. my guess is the product quality will only improve after shifting base to india if OP trains them well.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2015perhaps they will be more better than that of the chinese m... moredon't get your hope up. in fact, made in india will lower standard due to new workers trainings and operation optimisations.

you get what you pay for. those most expensive phone brands are made in china as well, some are assembled in foxcon and other plants. their quality are much higher, because they not only have all high quality parts (not just a cpu chip - cheap phones only have a brand chip, other parts were chosen to be as cheap as humanly possible), but also have better QC and provide plants with enough incentives (margins) to produce high quality products.

at same time, budget (cheap) phones like oneplus and others are also made in these plants as well. end results are not too good (to be polite).

What about launching the one plus x?
Why one plus is still planning to continue invite system even after its manufactured in India. They should atleast make purchase in india without the invite system.

I will be seeing a lot of Made in India label from now on. No one trust Made in China anymore. China make low quality stuff.
