even worse thing will happen to samsung , without mobile revenue samsung semi will take a big hit..

But they also manufacture ALL of the iphones in Foxconn factory. Much of the components come from within China too. So without China, Apple will be seriously hampered. Probably they can theoretically bring all the manufacturing to USA, and give lots of jobs to people in USA, but they will not do it, because bean counters at Apple figured out it will reduce their profit margin.

          Samsung just replaced Apple with other companies' orders. It's very easy to find customers when your technology is the best.

          Also, Tom's hardware said Samsung chips > TSMC'S chip. Same processing power but 3.5-10% more efficient.

              i think you need to refresh your math again.. if one of their major customer ( samsung mobile division ) go bust , it will definitely screw their top and bottom lines.

              apple is taking advantage of competition between their suppliers ( tsmc vs sammy or ssmc vs hynix ) , its not something like samsung is the only supplier..
              if samsung is damn good then apple might not have given A9 orders to TSMC

              anyway quality of technology between TSMC vs Sammy is proven by #chipgate ;-)

                Even with the whole pre oder selling out frenzy still the iphone 6s and 6splus arent doing so magnificent compared to previous iphone versions especially the last year iphones.

They just opened a HQ in Silicone Valley last month. Relatively very new. Apple better watch out. Iphones are very popular in Korea and I admit that. That is one of the reason Samsung didn't implement removable battery anymore because they know the citizen in their country don't care about that. Iphones are also popular in Japan due to 'galapagos syndrome' and in China due to China banning all Google services, so android pretty useless there.

Samsung semiconductor has been gaining record profits regardless of the performance of their mobile unit. Even when Apple moved away, their profits have been going up YoY because other companies filled in the capacity. Samsung semiconductor doesn't need either Apple or their own phone division.

                            Their memory, flash, storage, and other semiconductor tech are unmatched by any other semiconductor company. If the mobile division goes away, other phone companies will have no problems signing up for Samsung's tech.

                                Also you sound extremely stupid saying that the 6s is going to sell more because people are still buying the 5s even when the 6s came out. Are these people going to buy the 6s before the year is over?

                                Only reason the 5s would still be selling unusually more is because its small anyway.

                                  It sold lot more and 5s actually still selling after two years, so it's still getting sales, quite well actually.

                                  IPhone 5 sold around 90 million units, 5s have already sold over 130 million.
