Looks like a great handset with good specifications. Would like to see how its camera performs as that is the only weak point I see in HTC phones.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2015If you're trying to make a phone to compete with the iphone... moreNot true that with 2150mAh, A9 has the lowest battery capacity for a 5" Android phone. 2014 Moto G has 2070mAh (although at a pretty different price)

So it won't keep being the worst designed phone you can buy with $400

Lol As if it isn't already expensive enough, now they " sweeten the pot " even more. Just wonder how long it'll take before going bankruptcy.

And even 399 $ was the edge of decision rather to buy or not.
Time for HTC to lower the price for the European version first!
The US Type is still with better specs on it's way, coming with 3 than 2 GB and 32 GB memory vs 16 GB in the EU version for 579 €!!!

I saw one up close and personal on an interview. Better than I had expected. really really nice!! I actually feel very comfortable with this chipset and other processes. way better than my old reliable One S. Not to be hung up on that as there are plenty up and down the scale models and the i6s that I was also seriously contemplating is not as highly specked. The HTC is gorgeous looking in the live feeds.
Feels buttery smooth in the hand with some added texture. Nice. cant wait for the other colours unlocked to come up before buying. Happy days.

Ugly design and over priced. they should have sticked with their m8 design.

I reckon it won't be long before some ignorant people commenting it looks like an iPhone

I'm tying to buy 3 but the coal black one is not up onsite.
I was going to get an i6s potentially but this is better specked. The live cast release was informative as was reviews. Its a great handset no question there. perfect upgrade for us and it will feel premium in the hand.

This is the reason behind why your products is not competing well. Sorry HTC this is a crazy move.

HTC is trying to make the maximum profit of it. But for US$ 499,99 there are more equivalent choices. Bad move HTC

They need to find more partners to market their products so as to prevent monopoly / oligopoly that leads to severe overpricing...
It would do good for both HTC and their customers.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2015They are crazy. If you're trying to make a phone to compete with the iphone 6 and pricing it acordingly, you can't put a snapdragon 615 in it along with the lowest battery size ever seen in a 5" Android phone.
