HTC One A9 battery life test

01 November, 2015
HTC One A9 – the phone to redeem HTC’s past mistakes and the hope for higher sales. Our review impressions turned out a mixed-bag – the One A9 indeed is a device of great build, snappy and offers capable camera, but it’s quite expensive right now.

ok here is the thing i bought htc a9 one month ago..
This is my first htc phone.
The phone is just great. It performs well (no hanging nothing), good camera both front and back, good looking, handy, slim (its an iphone design!!! Who cares??), good display and touch, finger print sensor (which is very sensitive and fast) over all its a good phone.
But, the battery makes me cry.....although quick charge is available. (quick charge takes one and half hour to make it upto 100%)
Need to charge twice a day for a normal use (browsing, whatsapp, call, ) and will have to charge more times if the games are onnn...
Speakers are not that loud...its an okay okay.

Go for only it if your are not considering the battery issue and common all the phones will have some pros and cons. njoy

I have observed that charging the A9 after fully discharging it helps a lot!

        The Iphone 6s has a Non-removable Li-Po 1715 mAh battery (6.9 Wh), and you hate the A9?

I've had it for a week, and it's a bad as they say. I keep it on the low power mode, and it still won't last the day.

If you wanna take that chance, more power to you. Also, none of Qualcomm's current big.LITTLE designs can be considered "energy efficient." The SD610 and SD410 (the quad-core equivalents) have actually produced good results. The switching protocols are currently not up to par with Samsung's solutions, that's why they produce efficient big.LITTLE SoCs, whereas there's low battery life associated with QC's products.

I'm staying away from Qualcomm 2015. Period. Be back with SD820 and Sony!

No way. Plus a very efficient new chip set. We will see. My current HTC battery is smaller and it does just fine for business and as a WiFi hot point. Thanks anyway.

terrible spec with terrible design good bye htc

Ripperant, 02 Nov 2015Agree so I don't know what all the fuss is about on the A9 ... moreBut you realize that most of current "battery save" systems are based on TURNING OFF EVERYTHING.

What is the point of having phone with NFC, LTE, bright screen, good performance if only way to make through day is to turn it all off, and pray that you dont need to use internet or set screen to more than 50% to see something.

Sometimes I think most of people that defend bad batteries on phones are people who never used other phone s with good battery. You cant imagine how cool is to take z3 compact and use all day bluetooth, LTE and pay using NFC, and set screen to max and at the end of the day watch movie or play game and still have 30-40% of battery.
And its not only about xperia z3c, some other phones also have superb battery compared to most common phones like samsung s6 or HTC or iPhone.
People use those phones and say that they have good battery but all they do on their phones is browsing facebook and take few pics.

I think maybe 10% of people actually use all power of their phone AND USE IT TO WORK. Rest is sitting here with everything turned off, and talking about those features even if they actually never use it more than once per month.

Hoboner, 01 Nov 2015So, somebody tell me how this shows the phone's battery to ... moreThe other phones you see on the charts are other fairly unimpressive products for reference.

Decent phones typically have north of or close to 20 hours of talk time and 10 hours of web browsing: Mate 7, Sony Xperia Z3, Galaxy S6 (surprise), etc.

The G Flex is one of the champs, and look how far the A9 is from it on video playback.

HTC once again fails to deliver a product with good quality all around. There is always a major drawback, and it's often the same things with them : camera and battery life...

Its fine. Nearly everybody charges overnight. Even GSMs often flawed battery test gave it 11 hours more than the One S and that already goes a whole day for me which is more than several of my mates iphone which he is always complaining about that.

The launch vid said the A9 has extreme power saving mode as well as its standard power saving mode, but it features Doze. This is a new feature from Android M. It looks at what you are not using and the apps just simply, doze off.
