Windows 10 reaches 8% market share, but adoption is slowing down

02 November, 2015
Windows 10 has been around for a good three months now and Microsoft hasn't skipped on any opportunities to boast its growing popularity. About a month ago, Executive VP Terry Myerson pointed out that the OS has already reached 110 million devices and by Microsoft statistics that number has now exceeded the 120 million mark.

I am not interested in any of the services or features offered in Windows 10. I want my operating system to do just that: Operate. Having Microsoft log every thing I type, every site I visit, every program I run is not the experience I want. Constantly trying to push me into Microsoft services is not the experience I want. Removing control over my own computer is not the experience I want. My experience is a Windows 7 experience and that's where it will end.

xxx, 02 Nov 2015The main reason is because nobody like "flat ugly interface... moreFlat interfaces work for phones and tablets but not for desktops, Aero was ideal for Windows they should've just extended it further and cleaned up the look of the OS a little with better font rendering and icon designs like Macs.

I'm staying with last true traditional desktop OS, Windows 7 (Ultimate version) until Microsoft does something drastically different with their current user interface, which is better suited for the mobile environment.

Until MS provide a good replacement for Windows 7, it will become another Windows XP.
Even after 14 years, WinXP still holds 11% in 2015.

Now Win7 has been around for 6 years. Security patch for Win7 will end on 2020.
Microsoft still have 5 years to make a better OS than Win10, before Win7 becoming another WinXP in 2020..

we use os as a platform for other apps (social media, productivity, reading, games .. etc) .. win7 is still stable & performance wise & less spying (at least not in your face like 10) so switching to tablet-like simpletons win8x or cortana in your pants win10 wont be needed/advised.
but im sure evilone like bill gates &his gang will find a way to force us later .. like making drivers/games/apps works exclusively under win10

I just recently upgraded to win10 from win7 pro. Now my pc is laggy. Not as smooth as the win7. Shutdown button doesnt work, not unless I use alt+f4. Music app forcely close. And everytime I connect to the internet it slows my pc like hell, and sometimes apps are 'not responding' and my pc keeps on hanging.

Why would people again "upgrade" Windows? They have done it numerous times before getting nothing but headaches and no worthwhile benefit. Most are now running Windows 7 according to the graph. How would they benefit "upgrading" from windows 7 to Windows 10? It is after all just an operating system and people do not spend their time working with the operating system but with the apps - like Office. I run Linux so am not entangled in that saga.

I wonder how many would cross over if they left Windows Media Center alone? I probably would, but as it is now, upgrading to Windows 10 is actually a downgrade. There must be something about Windows Media Center they are losing money on, otherwise they would leave it alone. Why Microsoft why? At least give a good reason. You don't even have to support it just leave it alone.
