Btw, just look at that picture in the article.. so beautiful, the HD2 running WP7. IMO it looks amazing, because the BIG hubs actually show how BIG the screen is. So simple and clean... with so much potential..

I have been using Iphone 3g and is the best phone I have ever had, but now I am looking to change it. I was confused in N900 and HD2. After hearing this yesterday I thought N900 is the one I want to buy. Today I went to store and guess what bought HD2, I could not take of my eyes of the phone. I totaly love it. Update to WIN7 or not, does not matter. Such a fine piece technological advancement. I still have my Iphone but HD2 is my new fling....

Ben_UK, 02 Mar 2010Win Mo users get screwed over again yet they still like to ... moreI am not insulting Apple. I am insulting MS.
IMO just saying the iPhone 3G still has the latest and greatest software, is nuff said. The HD2 is not even out in the US, yet it is already outdated IF we do not get the upgrade. Which again, I think we will get. It just would be 'crazy', 'ridiculous', 'weird', 'F-ed up'.. so many words to describe it.
To be clear though, the HD2 is an amazing device even at this point. And HTC will give us at least one more update to 6.5.3 with some nice Sense tweaks (aka nice lockscreen, nice softkey skin etc). So buying a HD2 would not be insane.. though if I could make the choice again, I would have went to the Nexus One just based on the possible future.

If hd2 would have got an upgrade, it was fine.
if not, then still it the best phone available today,
I am very happy to own it and I think, so will be the
others who own this beauty. There may be some
ifs and buts still its a great handset, and I dont think
any handset can be perfect in every parameters,
whether its android, wm7 or others.
My advice, If anybody is thinking of buying HD2,
just fo for it, you will be more then happy

So, HTC HD2 doesn't qualify for update; I'll not get it even if it's a gift (exaggerating a little bit here xD) if I can get any updates. I will not get top notch hardware with a already outdated OS without an official possibility to get it. I'm not an iPhone Lover, but even the iPhone 3G had the update that the 3Gs has! It's ridiculous for Microsoft!. I'm staying with Nexus One that seems to be more upgradable through time!

First of all: Windows Phone 7 Series = awesome.
Second: we get a HD2, with Multi touch, 1 Ghz processor, etc etc... for what? If we get no software that really uses it. IMO there is no way we are not getting the upgrade.
ALL THIS 'HD2 is not getting upgrade' news is coming from ONE source. It could easily be a way to get MS to respond with 'that is false, we are giving you the upgrade'. But MS is not stupid.
DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A 100% 'NO'. It is just logic that the HD2 will get an upgrade. Or else MS will just do something inhuman.

Make the middle 3 buttons map to the 3 buttons and retain the outer two as call answer and call end. Job done.

Anon, 02 Mar 2010Thank you for the report we can now discount the HTC H2 as ... moreHahaha!
You must have always been with Telstra.
Don't put your experiences with them onto the other companies.
I think I'll use some of my included data tethering my laptop to my iPhone.
Visual Voicemail works well, as well.
Vodafone Australia.

"HD2 “doesn’t qualify because it doesn’t have the three buttons”, one of which needs to be a dedicated search key with the HD2 lacks."
Does anyone know a smartphone on Windows Mobile with high-res capacitive touchscreen, 1ghz Snapdragon CPU and a dedicated search button?
This is like saying "you don't qualify for our bank loan because I don't like your shoes, mister".

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2010If Microsoft want to revenge, they will provide upgrade to ... moreSince when you had to pay for upgrades?
Also your comment may be valid from your point of view but for M$ the winmo7 is next best thing. Also M$ launched several lawsuits against Google.
