I had used a Windows phone (L520) earlier, but had shifted to Android last year. I find Android laggy, confusing and battery-consuming. Apps remain open in the background even you have closed them, and keep on eating battery. One has to kill open apps continually.

Zillion apps in Play Store don't impress me, because I use only 10-15 of them (I do not hanker for fart simulator or fake blood pressure checker). I understand Windows is a new OS, and apps will come. I can wait .

Windows is simple, sturdy, fast, don't need anti-virus, less battery hungry, maybe less glamorous. But it sure does get things done, and that's what matters. I am planning to get a L550 for myself.

I thnik MS is joking when we look about their progress with Windows Phone-10. If we add still lack many apps, games, disadvantag, bugs, general concept is bad. Why MS ?!

Rahin, 16 Nov 2015I am surprised they used 210 proc for this. in this price t... morethe reason is they gonna use some money that u guys bought and update it, if u compare cheap android phone they never got updated. that's why BB/Lumia/jolla price were higher price compared to android with the same spec

Had to use couple of Windows phone.. however, always had an Android Device as a 2nd personal phone and there is a huge difference. Android is consumer mass oriented and has lots of options, with great UI and ease of use. Windows is like a machine, reminds me of the early DOS days. In addition, we may be using 10 or 15 apps, but the idea of always having new and updated apps is worth it. and by the way, Quality of the apps is way better on Android versus windows. from facebook, youtube (if it exists anyways), whatsapp, games,,,

android has 100% freedom but we use only 25% of freedom
windows has 25% freedom and we use 20% of freedom
apple has 0% of freedom and we use 0% of freedom

                    thats the reality...

the real success of windows 10 app gap would be when microsoft uses hybrid filesystem
which is built for cloud apps [to run both NT based apps and nix based apps]
someday windows will have 3 app stores [windows app store, google playstore, ios app store]

Android for the time being so went for marshmallow on a HTC a9. So far its just outstanding. I may relook at windows again next year sometime.

AnonD-9070, 16 Nov 2015I agree. I was using Lumia 1520 earlier and loved the phone... moreI have not much issues with apps. Important services offer a web based access. So it wasn't much of a problem. My local bank has apps for Android and iOS (I am from Sri Lanka. Even though Windows phones have a much higher market share than iOS, we don't have an app). But I access my account through the web portal. Similarly with sites like trello. This is advantageous for me in ways like I don't need to let an app read my contacts and device id and etc. And it will keep my data and space usage at a minimum. For this reason I even don't use Facebook (big app, big data hog, uses lot of permission, instead I use OperaMini.

I agree. I was using Lumia 1520 earlier and loved the phone. You need to use windows for few days to understand and appreciate beauty and simplicity of the UI. Biggest challenge is the app gap. And I am not referring to games. It is the banking, utility supplier etc that are essentials and still missing. Hopefully Windows universal apps and project islandwood will close the gaps so that I can return to windows phone.

Fitbri, 16 Nov 2015I went to the big new Microsoft store in Sydney on the week... moreWhen I got my fisrt Windows phone, I hated it so much because of the UI. But now I really like it and find it more easier to use than Android (personal opinion). I am in the Windows Insider program and the new features in the beta OS is Okay and much easier than Windows 8.1. But still feature wise behind Android. I never used an iOS device so I can't compare with it.

                                Expensive for the spec.

I went to the big new Microsoft store in Sydney on the weekend. All enthused to buy the Lumia 950. I checked out the messaging area. It was so convoluted and bitsy, I had to leave it. Strength is in simplicity and it was anything but. Pity, I was so looking forward to it.
