Sony's FES Watch with ePaper band to go on sale this week

Back in November last year, it was revealed that Sony is working on a watch with e-paper display, although nothing more was confirmed at that time. Fast forward a year and the timepiece, dubbed FES Watch, is all set to go on sale - only in Japan though.

Truthfully, it look a lot like Wove Band smartband that had been announced. Same concept it seem.

    It would seem obvious to make one end of the band as a USB, and then offer the 24 as online template images with the suitable shaped borders, and let people edit the B/W image with their prefer program and let the user upload one or more to the watch as they please.

    In a more complex variant they could even have offered dynamic stuff like the date and weekday on the strap, in orientation and size chosen by the user.

      It would have been really good if we could add custom watch faces and strap designs to it .
