LG V10 is on its way to the UK

03 December, 2015
The handset has already been listed on the company's UK website, although the "where to buy" section is still empty.

Here is an official reply from LG Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2016 09:11:05 -0700 confirming they will not be releasing the LG V10 in the UK....I am gutted.

Hi Tony,

Thank you for your query regarding the V10.

Unfortunately an executive decision has been made not to release the V10 in the UK. There has been a great deal of interest in both the V10 and the G5 over the past few months and LG UK decided to release the G5 out of the two. I apologise if this was not what you were hoping, Tony, however this can not be changed.

Whilst the processor in the LG G5 is more powerful than the V10, if it is the camera that you are interested in, there is an additional product you can purchase called the ‘G5 Cam Plus.’ This is a module which you attach to your phone which allows you to use many more facilities to improve the camera. It also comes with an integrated 1200 maH battery so that the use of taking good quality pictures does not drain your battery usage. I have provided a link below to a google search of the G5 Cam Plus so you can look into this feature further.

https://www.google.co.uk/#q=LG+G5+Cam+Plus

I apologise that the LG V10 is not being released in the UK, however I hope you are happy with the specifications of the LG G5. Should you need any more assistance, please do not hesitate to get back in touch and I will be happy to help. If you need to reply please click the additional questions link below.

Thank you in advance and I hope you have a good day.

Kind regards

Autumn

I've been told by LG this morning that there is no release date for the UK yet because they have still NOT decided whether to bring it here yet. I'm tired of waiting and will move on I think.

geoffdtg, 04 Dec 2015Never mind, found it at http://www.lg.com/uk/mobile-phones/... moreThe manufacturer's link doesn't list supported frequency bands. Does anyone have any information about which frequency bands the UK version might support?

I hope it is pretty close to the full set (UK G4 model H915 + T-Mobile band 12).

Im pissed at LG. Ive wanted this phone since I first used and I even tried it when I visited Hong Kong last month. LGs strategy to delay the EU/UK launch is a slap in the face to LG users. I was even tempted to get Sammy S6. But white sexy rubble and sexy screen is too damn sexy. I want this phone now. LG hurry the hell up and launch it already.

Trooper, 04 Dec 2015Loyalty (or customer loyalty in this case) used to be well ... more"(...) It's all about maximising profits, and loyalty now counts for nothing, as there will likely be many more new customers to replace the disheartened/disgruntled leaving customers"

Well that strategy does not seem to be very effective for LG, Sony or HTC, and currently those enjoing the best results are Apple and Samsung, arguably the ones with the most loyal customer base in the smartphone industry...

I think you're wrong: customer loyalty is still rewarding in terms of profit as long as you manage to achieve it, which is what I was suggesting.

Once again, Apple is not necessarily creating anything new here. All leading software companies in all industries have proposed such upgrade plans for probably more than a decade. I'm not going to assume that this is the most important element in revenue generation, but it's safe to say that if these billion-dollar companies still offer these kind of customer benefits, it's because it does at least bring some value both to them and their customers.

Personally, I'm an LG fan, and such a plan would precisely make the difference for me between buying or not buying the V10.

It's very stupid to buy a 2015 high-end smartphone. The SD810 and 808 are plagued with throttling problems and abysmal performance. Every Cortex A72 will wipe the floor with these "flagships" even the SD620 equipped lower-end models.

So I suggest everyone should wait. I will wait that's for sure. The SD801/805 devices from last year are much better than the 2015 top-dogs and the SD820-models will be a significant step up. Mark my words.

So there's absolutely no reason to get the V10 now. Sorry LG but you can keep that shit to yourself (Read: Korea). Try next year with both SD620- and SD820-models because the second screen does look interesting. It would be truely interesting when AMOLEd was used though as black unused pixels actually preserve battery power (which evert tech-savy reader knows except the devs at Google/Samsung and many others).

Do you have a link? The UK website doesn't seem to list it anywhere obvious?

the camera app of g4, v10 doesnt allow adjusting photo resoluttion all photos have to be 16m pixels. isnt it too funny? why no fix on it, no other users complain this?

It's all about maximising profits, and loyalty now counts for nothing, as there will likely be many more new customers to replace the disheartened/disgruntled leaving customers.

Loyalty (to a certain degree) can only be seen in the 'walled garden', but that is usually only through lack of technical knowledge.

LG and every other smartphone company needs to launch a phone upgrade programme just like Apple did.

I'm pretty sure they would secure and keep a lot more customers that way.
