                Anonymous, 29 Mar 2010full qwerty? nokia n72 10 mm!!! Motorola Q9: 11.8mm class... morefull qwerty? nokia n72 10 mm!!!
                Motorola Q9: 11.8mm
classic? Nokia 6500 classic 9.5 mm!!!
                Motorola L6: 10.6mm

                NOW do the math dude!

So when did the almighty brand release N72? June 2009.

Motorola Q8, at 11.5mm, was released in July 2005.

It took the almighty brand 4 years to reduce 1.5mm thickness?

6500C? Released in May 2007? Motorola L6 was released back in 2005 Q1.

Again it took the almighty brand 2 years to reduce 1mm of thickness?

                How about the N76? 13.7mm? Motorola V9 13.5mm...

                What a copycat....

also, according to your "thicker the better for the fans" theory, N72 and 6500C must be the WORST SELLING handsets by the almighty brand.

Is that true? I doubt so.

The truth I know is the fact, at least 2 of my friends have dumped their N72 in favor for iphone....as again the almighty brand, who may know how to make thin phones in every other form, doesn't know how to make a thin "touch screen" phone.

I agree with Keith , who is going to pay 800$ for a phone. The same thing happened when i saw the Sony Ericsson Satio and got really exited until i saw the price, ridiculous.

David, 26 Mar 2010"THINNESS, which the almighty brand doesn't seem to kn... more"Despite the fact the Nokias E-series are the slimmest and thinnest business phones on the planet with full qwerty and Classic Series has been awarded for it's slim wasteline and features, Nokia does have slide-out keyboard on thin phones, like the E75."

Really? Check out the specs of the full qwerty keypad phones:
                        Motorola Q9: 11.8mm
                        E63: 13mm
                        Classic series? 6700 C? 11.2mm
                        Motorola L6: 10.6mm

                        E75? 14.4mm
                        Motorola Milestone (with touchscreen): 13.7mm

                        Do the math dude!

"N-series is a institution for it's size. Nokia made this big survey in 2008 about their phones on their webpage, and the N-series fans actually like "manly" size of the N-series. Believe me or not, if Nokia made N-series flagships like 9 mm thin, they would loose alot money cause the fans won't but it."

Loose $ bcoz the fans won't buy them? If so, why didn't your beloved almighty brand continue to INSIST on NOT releasing touchscreen phones? Fans of the almighty brand would support whatever products it makes anyway...

Kid, if you ever study marketing, a successful company would go out and capture market share / customers from OTHER COMPETITORS, while "retaining" its own customers, that should ensure the greatest profit.

Did iphone just focus on its "own" customers to upgrade from 2G/3G to 3GS? I can tell you, most of the iphone users I know are NEW to Apple, and most of them, yes, used to own almighty brand's phones. (2 more are getting ready to switch within this month as I know).

The almighty brand may post a survey on ITS website, though who will post any reply there other than fans of the brand? Fans of the brand are likely to say yes to whatever it makes anyway....be that a 20mm thick phone, a phone that has micro-USB data port but does NOT support charing via USB, etc...

The greatest potential users are the ones who are NOT existing users of certain brand, and if a brand only focuses on its own customers, it certainly will loose market shares soon. Indeed most phone users do NOT spend time to post articles on any forums...be that brand specific or not.

"I have to agree, N-series feels great in the hand and the size is always perfect for comfortable grip and holding."

I'd bet "someday" when the almighty brand releases a 13.7mmm touchscreen phone with qwerty, you'd probably say "yeah, such size is perfect".

i am not stupid to follow the trend, i will buy meego phone instead, save me money to not have to buy netbook

Let's see how much it costs too. If they price it like SE priced the X10, then it'll flop. Who's going to pay $800 - $1000 for a handset?

Could have the best specs ever but if the OS is crap, who's going to buy?

Look at the iPhone. I am no fan of it. But it is proof that you don't need great hardware specs to sell phones. You just need a strong OS with a solid user experience.

We're moving on to a software world. That's why Android is picking up in poularity. Symbian^3 still won't come close to Android. This is what Nokia needs to focus. More megapixels isn't going to get you more sales from anybody except for a few tech geeks. Nokia and Symbian need to focus on the guts of the OS and then on the Ovi app store. The stuff in there is crap right now (especially compared to Android Market for example).

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2010So Nokia is copying the Satio, what's the big deal?Even though its unofficial the processor and screen resolution is better then Satio. This phone has better video recording then satio and runs Symbian^3 and has bluetooth 3.0 which satio has not.Your only reasoning is a 12 meg camera.Pretty weak argument.I guess you cant pick on this one for no mms like you did with N900.
