AnonD-463876, 11 Dec 2015Not allowed as in banned? Basically yes, they need some sort of certification. This is for official release though, you can still import it.

Also the reason why huawei is making statements like that is because they're in the midst of getting certification.

I must've said it before...but they need to bring the international version with QSD820, 4GB RAM, 64/128GB internal storage plus SD card expansion, multi-band mode like the Nexus 6P. Would be nice to have a near stock launcher.
Oh and a 5.5" screen model without watering down any of the other specs will be wonderful and well received by many who want the device, the specs but in a little manageable package.
Love that 78% screen to body ratio...so far one of the best i have seen on a device.

The camera is the new IMX298 from Sony know one knows how it performs.. And the performance will depend greatly on its software but has everything to top the s6 performance in paper.. Less pixels in the screen equals better battery life and better performance. Ps. This new chip is done in a new 16nm technology its not better then the s6 but in real life we couldn't see a difference yet between the 2

This phone also has the elusive LTE band12(700mhz) that will work on Tmobile's next-gen network. That is KEY and it's a pretty big one coming from a chinese manufacturer.

The devices are cheaper so it's not too bad, except the GPU which has always been considerably worse. Even the lower resolution screen won't compensate for it. Huawei do seem to be on the rise but still.

Remember that the international release is at most 2 months before the s7 and all the other phones.

I compared the Mate 8 spec sheet with the Galaxy S6, and the Mate 8 equals or beats it on pretty much every item. Camera, frequency bands, MicroSDHC card and battery are most important to me, and the Mate 8 exceeds on all of these.

The GPU in particular is only as good as the galaxy s6, while next years GPUs seem to be a lot better. The phone is good now, but as I said it probably won't hold up as well next year, which is when the official international release is.

I still don't have any experience with Huawei yet though, I'm still dubious of Chinese brands but people keep telling me they're fine. Still going to wait at least until next year before considering one,the review of this one should help me decide, huawei think highly of it after all.
