Great to hear that Google fixed it. :)
...And a reason less for the Blackberry Priv to have the keyboard sliding the wrong way... ;)
I was stuck on ICS on my ancient Xperia Pro, and was forced to the horrible Ios experience to get a hardware keyboard (case) on a phone sized device. ( See http://eskerahn.dk/wordpress/?p=554 )
Ios still have this 'by design' bug in the desktop, and many apps and menus.

That's weird, none of my 4 6.0 devices have this bug. Is there any actual information on this? What devices were they using? Were they rooted? Any custom stuff on it? Yey for professional journalism right?
The only "issue" I've seen is WhatsApp not receiving messages overnight, but I'm pretty sure that's normal according to the settings.
Also, "the Google issue"...yeah, definitely not implying anything here...

I've... moreWell not praising or bashing and specific brand here, But the crazy thing on the Xperia Pro was that the landscape UI was ONLY available when the slider was open. I never was able to find any plausible explanation for that crazy choice - but it clearly was a deliberate "per design" choice, as the fully functional support for landscape were there...

If you flash Cyanogenmod you'll have the option to disable that "feature" and have pretty much everything working with landscape (at least everything I've tried). -- I'm pretty sure Xposed must have something like that too.

But at the least this one was q... more...Another crazy one that has been on several OS-variants is reverse phone-book look-up only looking at the last five digits.
I have actually TWICE over the years had two friends where that was an issue. So not that uncommon.
Once on an early Motorola Startac (actually they where equal on EIGHT digits except the country-code), and currently on Ip6- I got two equal on the last five digits, causing confusion receiving messages, luckily one does seldom text - though it is his name displayed on messages from the other...

With e... moreI agree to a large extent.
But at the least this one was quickly addressed.
But yet, it IS amazing and really annoying that what seems like completely basic functionally bugs/design flaws are not detected - or worse not fixed for years.
One that exists for both Android and Ios (not to bang one or the other), and has been there for ages, is the poor/lacking basic landscape support. But the crazy thing that it is per design!! On the ancient Xperia Pro the desktop IS supported in Landscape when the slider is open (only), so the function is there, but deliberately disabled by some crazy design decision. It make no sense what so ever that they should want to 'force' me to hold my phone in a certain direction - a crazy variant of "You're holding it wrong".
Messaging to more than one person has different strange bugs in different OS-variants, despite those were fixed on early Nokias back in the last millennium...

With e... moreGoogle, Microsoft and Apple need to be just as quick because they are fighting each other fiercely every inch of the market!
Google needs volume, Apple tries to steal the flagship Android market whilst trying to keep their own costumers and Microsoft essentially grasps at every straw to survive in the mobile arena.
Even in the desktop world Microsoft needs to be quick, given how Apple is gaining traction in the professional world. The Windows 10 privacy concerns aren't helping there, though it's not likely that (in the consumer market) Microsoft will be challenged any time soon.
