Also, I don't want to hurt you but ymbian sucks! Finally, maemo & meego have as basement the linux, as Bada does! So, stop your impressive propaganda, because in the end you won't have positive results! Cheers! :)

I think GSMARENA fail to highlight that this prediction is only in russia market. Look at their MS in 2009 4Q, they are already near nokia. It is not surprise that they would overtake nokia this coming qtr. In fact, nokia has lose a number of market dominance to samsung, that includes USA and some key europe market. the reason Nokia is still number 1 because they hold on market share to the key market such as India which it has more than 50% while samsung has onli 10%.. These are market which mostly buy low end product.

Something to make Nokia scratch there heads. Bada makes the as yet to be released symbian ^ 3 look dated already plus iphone OS 4.0 debuts on Thursday Android 2.1 starting to ship RIM got there own update going on Nokia better watch out! I've always used Nokia but N97 made me think twice about Nokia being able to sustain superiority in the smart-phone market they're losing the battle.

I don't care who makes the phone. As long as it has superior features and performance, then I'll buy it. The new innovation is Samsung came out a phone with a projector on it, that's bad ass. It would be even better if it can record videos at 1080p with at least 30fps. Alongside with that is a Xenon flash, video light, image stablilization/anti-handshake, and a fast processor too. That would be the ultimate phone. I will be the first one to buy it if they make that kind of phone.

Both maemo/meego/linux and symbian are advanced open source systems. Neither of them are dependant on nokia, especially not linux.

Bada is just another ridiculous adition but it's surely even more primitive than Android which is quite primitive on it's own. I won't even mention iPhone that doesn't even have an OS.

At least they stuck with windows. If I ever gat a samsung, that's what it's gonna be.

Noman, Samsung didn't adopt Meego because they didn't want to depend on Nokia. For the same reason they threw away the Symbian. (I hope to understand my English! :D)

Noman, 05 Apr 2010Samsung could have done the smart thing and used either And... moreUmm Samsung has used symbian in the samsung omnia HD phone.
They are using android in the samsung galaxy S. How are they not smart?

100 apps for launch is really good. So to correct you they will have games and the graphics should look really good.

i forgive you for saying they aint smart :)

the problem is samsung's os is supported by nearly enough companies. Atleast nokia is being supported by moblin, linux, intel, mozilla... there's no question about it, the support of these companies will show in the end product.

Samsung could have done the smart thing and used either Android, Symbian or MeeGo. But nooo, they have this BADA which will have no games and low amount of apps! Why didn't they choose MeeGo if they wanted the full Linux experience?

predictions are predictions... the proof is in the pudding. Samsung may be innovating, but its not like the other companies have stopped. So lets see if samsung can pull a rabbit out of thier hat and overtake nokia (highly doubt this is possible since nokia's rep is far more established than any other company)...
                                  good luck to all companies
