While Xiaomi (Pronounced Shoau-Mee) and Huawei (Wah-Wey) have a noticable departure from their English spellings. While I don't speak Mandarin, your assumption is that all languages in the east are the same.

I believe Huawei target is not " US ",please understand correctly.
In next ten years,the biggest market in mobile phone will be China mainland and india.

in India huawei has the same brand value of companies like HTC, Samsung, LG, and Motorola in US market.

Samsung is a korean word yet american have no problem with it either. Brand like Huawei and Xiaomi is the easiest word to pronounce by anyone with 'smart' brain. After all, that is what smartphone for.
