I dont know why there are complaints on update.. Might be the case that you have just updated it without any factory reset. What i did is mentioned below and i donot see any major bugs whatsoever in this update.

1.backup msgs and contacts using superbackup or any other app you prefer.
2. Whatsapp backup on google drive
3.factory reset
4.download the update
5.install the update
6.factory reset again

All done.. My phone is new again and atleast i wont think to change it for few days!!! 😜

I don't know why people out here are giving false reviews (maybe some haters of motorola).
Updated my phone Moto G 3rd gen to android marshmallow 6.0 and I'm loving it.
    NO BUGS whatsoever.

Did a factory reset and erased everything. I'm using the SD card as a portable storage(as it was before).
    Things changed:
    1. Moto assist and moto migrate removed, which however can be downloaded via play store.
    2. The camera shutter sound can't be turned off, but that can't be termed as a bug.

bugs mentioned by people which I didn't experience at all:

1.Unable to change MX player brightness however I was able to vary the brightness by swiping my finger over the left area.

    2. Touchscreen not working however it is working better than before.

    3. System slow and unusual reboots, contacts not updating, even this didn't happen in my case but if it happens you need to perform a factory reset after updating.

    4. Play music doesn't detect music in sdcard, although it never happened with me. Maybe because I did a factory reset.

5.Connectivity to the computer: Now for this you always have to select MTP to transfer files on your internal storage or SD card, as by default it will be on the Charge only mode.

    6. OTG : OTG is working fine just as before you need to install a 3rd party application.

    7. Battery backup: The phone gives same battery backup as it used to on the lollipop. I dont know why people here are complaining about bad battery backup.

    8. Moto actions working fine just as before chop chop for torch and quick capture twist for camera.

So go ahead and taste the new flavour without worrying.

Having similar problems as others. Updated 2 days ago and today I'd say my phone has rebooted itself close to 10 times. That bright white Moto screen isn't the most pleasant thing to be woken up by in the middle of the night.

Interestingly, up until a couple of weeks ago I had the Spotify app and it was causing the same regular reboot problem. Got rid of the app and the phone has been perfect since... until now.

                            Hi Guys,

Today I updated Moto g2(2014) from lollipop to Marshmallow. It really sucked. My contacts are not at all working. even on the incoming calls the contacts are not displaying. So I have been forced to factory reset. Kindly wait for some time to get Android 6 more stable. Don't install it in hurry. Please advise me how to get to lollipop version.

Hi, I installed the marshmallow update today on my moto g3 and thought I'd share my experience, these are the steps I took.
                                        Downloaded and updated on phone
Turned phone off after initial boot into marshmallow and went into recovery to wipe the cache
                                        Restarted the phone
Then I done a reset back to factory from within the phone erasing everything
When the phone rebooted I selected to use my sd card as internal storage
Re installed all my apps that I wanted back.
All seems to be working fine, the torch works from shaking the phone as does the camera when you twist it, also I still have the button to turn the shutter sound on and off within the camera, which also works fine.
