I installed Opera Browser today and removed it shortly after. It looks good but the web pages I visit regular, like banking etc. It could not cope with. HSBC personal banking doesn't work very well with it. I get stuck with the Download Rapture software screen. Even Operas My Community I had problems with not being able to get a response from the active button links.
That was two problems I found straight away. I didn't notice a difference in Speed from Safari and Opera browser so I would rather be without until they get it sorted.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2010Yeah, it certainly does everything that was promised. I won... moreObviously it doesn't violate the terms of the SDK most of the work is done on Opera's servers so there's no issue with the App store.
Adobe doesn't want to follow Apples rules they want direct control of the iPhone hardware which IS against the terms of the SDK.
No-one backs Steve Jobs into any corners that's why he is such a great CEO and business man.
Apple is now worth $219 billion.

raihan, 13 Apr 2010Does is support you tube video...
No, it doesn't.
Opera Mini compresses things by going through Opera's servers, this strips out more complex elements of web pages.
There's also no secure connection so you can't do things like Internet banking.
I've found it's not that fast but that may be because I'm a long way from Opera's servers.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2010Downloaded it and looks good so far, very fast loading. ... moreYeah, it certainly does everything that was promised. I wonder why Apple approved it though? Did Opera back Jobs into a corner hoping he would bite by refusing to release it? Or is Apple warming to more 3rd party functionality?

Downloaded it and looks good so far, very fast loading.
Just wish it could import bookmarks direct from the Iphone Safari instead of just from the desktop pc.

Bricked, 13 Apr 2010http://www.umpcportal.com/2009/02/why-do-we-need-flash-on-o... moreI agree, flash as it is now clearly doesn't represent the future anymore!
Instead it will remain as small pieces of the clockwork web mechanics HTML5 will be able to offer.
So far HTML5 and flash seem to be working nicely together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siOHh0uzcuY
At this stage all we would need on our iPhones would be flash lite.

Anonymous, 13 Apr 2010Just checked and it doesn't support flash. I HATE MY IPHONE!Flash makes webpages look nicer but seriously, is it THAT good?
1. I have loads of free apps, so I don't need to play any online flash games. Farmville, lol.
2. Intro pages? I've not been looking at them since I installed Ad Block on Firefox, so no loss there.
3. Apple are bringing Ads to the iphone in their own way. Intrusive Ads that open up as you happen to float your finger over them (or mouse pointer) are just annoying.
