I always expect a previous generation device to be slow. Old phones with new updates will not feel as fast as current phones.

IMO updates from iOS makes phone slow in every update....
android updates makes phones a lot faster with every update...
but updates supposed to make phone more efficient so i guess android is on the right track and apple is going backwards...

iphone get update and phone wont work anymore...
android phones phones dont get the latest updates for old phones but atleast it still works...
thats why they got sued since customer was expecting it to work properly but now it wont function at all even basic necessities...

I don't know where to start with the rest of your 3 little posts, plus your a fanboy, so I would only be wasting my time.
I guess I'll just leave it at this: be happy with your Note Edge, and be thankful that Samung already have no real interest in supporting that device.
Here's too Android fragmentation and limited / brief software support.......good things apparently........

Lex79, 02 Jan 2016Many people do not update, what your effectively saying is ... moreYes,Samsung n LG n HTC n etc r not giving updates to their old phones( sometimes new also),but they not giving update to make phone worst and you hv to buy new one.
And 2nd thing if u want to upgrade your mobile only for latest OS u have too many options in Android with veryyy less price. N u can change your company easily.
And in IOS...u know it already.

Yeah Nah, 02 Jan 2016While updates may not be "mandatory" who doesn't update? Ye... moreMany people do not update, what your effectively saying is that it's better not to be given the choice.
In that case I would switch to android if I were you, because on that vast majority of devices, that choice is very quickly taken out of your hands.
So Apple are ripping their customers off by offering updates to 5 year old devices, yet Android oem's are not ripping their customers off by simply abandoning most devices within a two year window??
Again, I'm not saying this story might not be true, but if Apple are attempting to persuade customers to update a 4 year old product by offering (not forcing) a non optimised firmware update, then how is that any different to Samsung or LG, Sony or any of the rest, trying to get you to update to a newer product by not supporting their legacy devices at all.
When was the last official update the Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation, Optimus 2X etc (all from the same product generation as the 4S) received eh?

I don't love either iOS or Android, cause I'm not that weird. I do like using both though, and have a big enough investment in both platforms (in terms of services and apps) to prove it.

Lex79, 01 Jan 2016Personally I think this lawsuit is ridiculous, of course, b... moreWhile updates may not be "mandatory" who doesn't update? Yes Apple will garner quite a bit attention from this but, none of that attention will be good and so what an iPhone 4s is about 5 years old? I use an iPhone 4; which if the accusations turn out to be true is probably better than a 4s because it has a maximum update of iOS 7.1.2.
The moral of this story is that its not suprising that Apple would be ripping off their customers.

AnonD-442781, 31 Dec 2015Well yes. Apple is being sued because they gave the update,... morePersonally I think this lawsuit is ridiculous, of course, because it's aimed at Apple, traction and attention it will recieve by the bucket load.
Updates are not mandatory, even in iOS. But the iPhone 4s is now nearly 5 year hardware, a drop in performance is to be expected.
And I see that you agree limited software software support in the Android space is a good thing?
Well I guess all those Nexus 4 users can give a big sigh of relief at being spared the horror of having their just two year old device updated to marshmallow eh? And that is by no means the only example.
Where as I will not rule out the possibility that ther may be a lack of optimisation going on in iOS 9 as far as older devices is concerned, i think this is nothing more than opportunistic BS!
