Valve comes clean, admits Christmas day Steam glitch was due to DoS attack

31 December, 2015
We reported earlier that a weird glitch took over Steam on Christmas morning, as several users reported seeing other users' account information instead of their own. The issue was sorted out in a few hours, and later Valve confirmed that it was due to a caching issue.

The whole information was accessible nothing blured, i have screenshots of the whole information of some accounts. cause i kept reloaded the steam profile menu; i was wondering if someone hacked my account.

names, address, phone number, email, you name it everything was in clear which is funny cause they're say its not the case, if i wanted i could load the information on web image hosting. so i'm pretty sure my information someone or more had access to it.

and they're not even compensating either.

Without hackers, security cant be improved.

sorry, but if i were valve, i would have done that too, to keep people calm and not panic. If valve would have come up like "we were hacked and people's privacy are now public but we will resolve in few hours" doesnt help at all.
