Oculus Touch controller delayed, will now ship in H2 2016

Oculus has announced that the Touch controller for its Rift VR headset will be delayed. According to the company, the controller will now be shipping in the second half of 2016 - it was earlier scheduled to be shipped in H1.

        So with technologies like the Microsoft Kinect out there, we're supposed to invest in a two-part controller, each with its own batteries that need to be charged, apart from the headset.
        And for what? For anyone that tried even the lowly google cardboard can tell that the comfort level of using such a device is mediocre at best. Beyond the gimmicky aspect, I fail to see the usefulness of the Oculus (as a whole) and the others like it.
