Pawel G, 04 Jan 2016I confirm. I have the same issue with Lumia 640 XL LTE. But... moreI will try the phone in 3G Mode but as you are im going to move back to Android in March this year.

Only thing I really like about Windows phone is that I can personalize the text message tones for each caller hopefully Android Marshmallow will give this option but im not sure.

ethereal, 04 Jan 2016Where's the Windows 10 upgrade for my Lumia 730, 920 & ... morewhere is your marshmallow update for a 2 year or a 3 year old phone? I dont see any android user or an ios user cribbing about not having a newer version of os on their older smartphones. At least microsoft cares enough to promise an update for these old devices in near future.
Also, bugs are a normal thing for every android and ios user whenever a new software update arrives (don't even get me started on the wifi issue on iphones and macs). They have accepted these bugs as a part of their lives. But i laugh at people for not being patient enough to handle few bugs in a revolutionising software for a while till microsoft fixes them (and they are fixing them real fast). As microsoft execs already stated, "The software is still not complete but we are launching these devices for real fans." By real fans, they meant people who were willing to accept those issues and still be patient enough. For other people, please do come back next year if you cant handle it.

For any poweruser WP will not be enough. WP10 is buggy, the flagships are too expensive for an unfinished product and the apps are not the same quality as on iOS and Android. Even Microsoft programs run better on other OS-es.The midrange phones are OK for some regular stuff, but thats it. The only plus is that WP is fluid and it looks different, nothing more.

                Former lumia 800, 930 and 1020 user.

Though the content is newsworthy, the headline somewhat gives the impression that there's something wrong with the Lumia. Smh.

I think most of those who post negative sentiments against WP are not users of Microsoft devices. I use both a Note 5 and a Lumia 640XL. I prefer to type on Lumia 640 XL as the typing is more accurate. Battery life on Lumia is excellent!, in general I prefer to use Lumia than Note 5 (yes do not be surprised!) . Many features in Lumia are fast and intuitive. The only things I hate are: 1) It is still not possible to attach files directly in outlook from the device 2) sharing Acrobat reader documents is not straight forward (adobe update a bit backward), 3) No document signing in adobe, 4) Outlook dos not synchronise outlook tasks 5) I wish I could attach files directly from One drive while in outlook email 6) saving files directly from outlook email is a missing feature.

                        Slow news day at GSMArena.....?

I have the non-XL device as a business device. Its fine and i have no issues with it and that one is on sale at Amazon no problem.

The display dock is also excellent.

Perhaps the borked update pre-Xmas has something to do with it and they want to update all devices pre-shipment.

Microsoft pulling the plug? I dont think so.

Neither Android nor iOS are business quality operating systems.

I once wanted to buy a Blu-Ray from Amazon but that was on hold due to being 'not as described' - it could be ANYTHING.

Nothing to see here - move along.

When I looked last week Amazon had this up for about 430 pounds. I wonder if their low price is the reason for it being halted as it was the cheapest price by far anywhere. I almost bought it.

But only when it is set to work in LTE network. When I set it to work in 3G there is no problem with receiving phone calls. SIM card replacement did not solve the issue. My mobile service provider told me that Microsoft is aware of that issue, affecting also other Lumia models but they do nothing about that. This is my last Windows phone.

It has to be a concern to not only those wanting to buy this new phone but also those awaiting a windows 10 update to supported phones.

I have Lumia 640 and I suffer a lot with my Husband and a friend trying to ring me (Husband Nokia Lumia 735 and friend LG G Flex 2) where when they try calling me they get a network voice saying my phone is turned off. This does not happen all the time but far too many times than is acceptable. It may be a network issue but my Husband is on Vodafone as I am and my friend is on Virgin two different networks. My husband never has this issue when he is called (my friend has had to ring his number to get through to me when he cant get through to me). I have tried many times replacing sim cards to no avail with no improvement. My Contract is over soon with Vodafone in March and I will be going back to 3 Network and asking for a new phone number. If my Lumia 640 has the same issue then it will be sold off for what little I can get. Good luck to people who buy Windows Phones.
