Much depends on whether things are affordable. I admire HTC over any other phone, EVO4 is my dream but can't afford it - so dream cannot become reality.

there has been such nice guys since day one(days that Samsung only had 4% of global market share)and when Samsung was trying to outperform rivals these nice guys predicting "Samsung as tiny fire that sooner or later rivals drops will cool it's temperature",how about know?!how about Samsung as 2nd largest mobile manufacturer?!how about closing the gap with nokia(sorry dude but iPhone's market share in globe is low as almost not existing)every single day?!

(For the first comment) Don't forget Samsung was and continue to be one of the first developers of new touchscreen-based technologies, without him or Apple, no HTC nor other manufacturer's device would have AMOLED or pinch-zooming etc so soon. Especially it is obviously Samsung do care about every kind of people, its portfolio stands between $100-800, what means everybody can try a touchscreen device! Bravo!

HTC last 4 phones is almost the same with nothing real mindblowing, look at Samsungs 2 new flagships they are mindblowing they are way a head on the Super Amoled screen, it is a HTC Desire and Iphone put together. Even the SE Xperia 10 is better than the HTC.

i think that its good that samsung can release cheap touch screen phones like this one so people who dont have much cash and dont need high-end specs can at least enjoy a touch screen phone.its not for me though.i have the 8500 wave pre-ordered but i still its a good way to tempt other phone users to buy their phones.a good company looks after all kinds off users needs and this phone to many people with limited funds will be perfect.
