Nextbit Robin "cloud phone" starts shipping on February 16

I have about 21.4GB remaining after most of my apps are installed and all updates done with as of writing this post.

Too expensive for its low low specs. Much better phones at that price range (Redmi prime and Redmi Note for example). At $100 I will start discussing this.
Also the cloud era is not upon us, unless and until most places start getting unlimited data at good speeds, it won't be upon us. Give it another decade and maybe this phone's idea will fly. Apart from that too much of a premature release...

well they could at least make cloud optional coz in 3d world countries like egypt our connection sucks alot eliminating any possible usage of cloud and most internet demanding services for example streaming at 1080

Samsung started this a while ago with the free cloud storage on their devices (I think with the s6 because it didnt have expandable storage), but tbh I'm not sure about the autimatically deleting data off the phone part.. Do you get to pick the data it deletes or is the choice out of your hands?

Look at it a bit differently and this starts to make sense. The 16GB variant gets sold the most with iPhones. Google's Nexus 5X has only 16 and 32 gig variants with no SD slot.
Nextbit is offering a 32GB model with the cloud backup as a feature (very useful according to me, but YMMV). Even discounting the cloud backup feature, this phone has good specs for 399 bucks: SD 808, 3 GB RAM, FP Sensor, NFC, Fast charging, Dual front-facing speakers with dual amplifiers and a very good rear camera (many unedited photos have been shared by Nextbit) with PDAF and dual-tone flash.
It also comes with an unlocked bootloader, no bloatware and Open Source drivers so it is really mod-friendly.
So, if one likes the design, this phone is a good option to consider.

A case could be made that trusting Nextbit isn't the same as trusting Google, but that can be fixed by backing up only Apps to their cloud and not photos/videos. Nextbit have already spoken a bit about their security / encryption model.

I think the Robin is a really nice looking handset and although the cloud stuff seems like a very useful/cool addition I'm more into the form factor, handeling, Type-C port and the "no-bloatware"-approach that Nextbit has taken. My only REAL issue is the camera, how good of a shooter is it really? Hard to judge shot-to-shot time and also low-light capability. Sadly I will probably never get a hold of one, got my LG G4 just a couple of months ago (on release), which really has an amazing camera (manual mode is great!) and am still on a contract.

People who want privacy, will stick to keeping their data on their phones, not in cloud which can be hacked by others or companies provide data to 3rd parties without your knowledge. No company is a saint in this business world, so don't say it won't happen at all for sure.
