I have a Gear S2 and it works with my iPhone 6. It doesn't do much at the moment. I get notifications of texts, gmail, Google Now, contact information displays when a call is coming in, etc. The watch's pre-installed apps (step counter, heart rate monitor, etc) work fine.

dont get me wrong, im a hardcore apple user, but im not above admitting that the apple watch is pure trash. im so glad that the samsung watch now works with iphone. apple services are 1000% better than samsung and i still would prefer samsung watch to a apple watch any day no questions. sorry apple i love you but your watch cannot compare to samsungs well thought out Gears S2

I've been with Apple for years and have just switched to the Samsung device for leisure. I'm now wondering why I didn't try Samsung sooner; the Gear S2 is miles ahead of the apple watch and my note 4 craps all over my 6s. The difference is control; Apple wants to control the user while Samsung gives you control. The only downside to the Gear S2 and Samsung devices is VR and IOS support, otherwise, it's better than apple. If they brought google VR, this product would be sound and apple wouldn't even be in the area code.

When Steve Jobs died, he left a fortune for Apple to continue, but now, even though Apple is very rich, it's very greedy.It's products are good and everything, but Samsung offers lots of gadgets.When compared to Apple which has iPhone,iPad,Apple Watch,Apple TV (only 4 things which release every year) Apple simply fails. Samsung releases tons of gadgets monthly which costs a lot of money.No hatred though, but Samsung pays lots of taxes and a spends millions constantly to release gadgets.Unfortunately, Apple doesn't make any effort and just waits till they're in the mood to work.They rarely spend money that's why they're rich

All the bickering and arguments. As the corporations fight for control of your minds you let them win, without thinking.
They want your money and your devotion and loyalty to the brand. Apple is ridiculously rich because they overcharge for a product produced by drone workers in factories that have safety nets to stop people jumping off the roof to their deaths. They pay minimal taxes to the countries their products are sold in, using every loophole they can in the law. Samsung charges a realistic price so they are not as rich, and they dont mindbend as much, but they still do it.
Wake up and stop arguing. Iphones are pretty good but overpriced. Samsungs/Sony/Etc all pretty good too but different. Big deal.

Gear ... more"Sam-boy-fan-boys"?? whatever that is, here's my history: Blackberry Onyx 9700 > Samsung Note 1 N7000 > iPhone 6 Plus. Windows 10. i'm not even a fan of any brand. stop assuming everyone bad mouthing Apple is Samsung fanboys. iPhone is better than Galaxy S. While Galaxy Gear S2 is better than Apple Watch. that's my opinion. don't agree? i'm completely fine with it.

Tell me the difference between it, between a normal Apple Watch and a Samsung Gear S watch(any gear S,S2). It's just a 10,000$ boy swagger watch which functions as a normal Apple Watch which is just 350$(which still has no cellular connectivity). But when compared to the Gear S2 3G, it's such a letdown...Meh, I don't see any point in this iFan vs S Fan war. Just doesn't make sense. Both companies make great gadgets which are worth buying but the costumers are just mad about which company is better.. The Internet would've been better without all of this hatred and disputes. :)

Must be why Apple watch sold more smartwatches in 2 weeks of the holiday season than any android wear and tizen and basically ALL other smartwatches EVER have,,, right? It also explains why wall street describes the smartwatch market as "Apple's market"... right? I mean that makes SO much sense!

Which feels cheap on the wrist? With a horrible UI for the most part, infact the only time the UI shines is when you're using the rotating bezel in the home screen? MOST importantly why use a 3rd party smartwatch in iOS? Be it Android wear or Tizen? I'd understand if he chose a fitbit, for the fitness tracking and long battery life, but this piece of trash? It's like choosing to put a Toyota engine in a Bentley.

Since Samsung is bringing iOS compatibility to the Gear S2, more developers will support the Gear S2 and it'll have more apps. Nice try Samsung, wish you luck from a beloved customer. :)
