They are total failures in the market, in less than a year Nokia's average smartphone sale price dropped from 190€ to 155€, proving yet again that they are the cheap phone kings.

Nokia's symbian touchscreen phones are so pitiful, it's painful.

"Yes, a lot of features on the iphone can be found on nokia devices as well"
Your wording here is quite ironic. It should be "a few a nokias features are available (have been copied to) on the iphone and i have to pay extra to get some of them." IF you think this is incorrect here is your chance to prove me wrong. Except for the so called flashy ui, can you name a few features the iphone has that the n97 lacks?

Anonymous, 24 Apr 2010No, this topic os fruitless because isheep do not realize t... moreHumiliating? The iphone interface and OS is way better than any Nokia device. Yes, a lot of features on the iphone can be found on nokia devices as well, but the implementation is not as friendly and intuitive as the iphone's. And that is what makes stand out among the rest. And that is the reason why the iphone has more units sold that its rivals.

The only raeson the iphones sold more than the n97 is because the n97 is not the only device running symbian touch. Symbian sers had a choice. If you wanted a allrounder, you got a n97. If you feel it is too big you buy a n97 mini. If you need a exellent camera you have the satio or viaz. Of need it cheaper but with all functionality you can get the 5800. If you are willing to give up 3g you can get the 5530 and if you dont need a larger screen and wifi you can get the 5230. Also if dont want touchscreen then there are hundreds of other options available. Anyway, if you see in thiss context, it is unfair for the n97 to up againt the single apple phone, well the 3g and 3gs togather. Therefore if you compare the total touch symbians sold against the number of iphones sold, symbian is well in the lead. Maybe not in you country but worldwide.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2010About that bluetooth vs email argumet below, ok ifanboy, we... moreHey nokia fanboy. We know that your nokia phone can send files via bt and I guess it's nice to have another option besides email. But we're doing fine w/out bt file transfer as well. But yes, this argument is quite fruitless because we all have different preferences. The problem here are nokia fanboys who get jealous of the iphone's popularity and the fact that it is outselling their favorite nokia device. That's the problem. This article is not even about bt. It's about Apple's successful 1st qtr of 2010. Yet nokia trolls cme in here bringing up irrelevant topics. I guess it's to ease their bitterness and jealousy knowing that their nokia phone has something that the iphone does not :)

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2010I heard of videos sent via bluetooth and they go a lot fast... moreYou know what? If transferring movies via bt is your thing, then so be it. The iphone is obviously not your kind of device. But millions of people are not like you. Just because you drive a mini van that could accomodate 8 people, it does not mean that our bmw m3 coupe is a good for nothing car.
The iphone comes with a usb cable out of the box. That is what we use to connect to our macs or pc's. And we're just fine with it. And we love itunes. And that is a problem because?
More people bought the iphone than the n97. That clearly means that more people like how the iphone works than your nokia device. Not saying that the n97 is a bad device. I'm just saying that based on unit sales, more users prefer the iphone for whatever reasons beneficial to them.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2010SO, where's your qwerty dial? http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia... moreWhat qwerty dial are you asking about? Is there even such a thing?
Ok first of all, transferring movies is automatic when you sync the iphone to a mac or pc, and it doesn't take that long. If you're referring to bt file transfer between phones, good luck. A movie is a big file. It would take you a long time to transfer it via bt. Also, why are you transferring movies to another person's phone? Can't they afford to buy their own movie? And when is it my responsibility to transfer my movies to someone else?
I never had a problem forwarding files or emails no matter how big they are on my iphone. I don't even bother checking the size. I just forward it. And to be honest with you, I use my laptop or computer for powerpoint files because it's really much better working them on a laptop or computer, not a phone.
Bt file transfer, depending on the file size, may also take while to complete. And you'll be end up stuck with the other person waiting for it to complete. W/ email, you just send it, and you're done. You don't have to stick around with the other person. It's really never a problem with us, so I don't know why you make it your problem.

About that bluetooth vs email argumet below, ok ifanboy, we get your points but what you have to realize is this. Every nokia from about 5 years ago could do all that email stuff you talked about while the bluetooth option is available if you are in a low reception area or have no datz plan. Therefore your argument is fruitless since a nokia can easily do the email stuff aswell in addition to using the bluetooth.

At 1Mbps (Slowe... moreI heard of videos sent via bluetooth and they go a lot faster than by uploading them through 3G on a mail sever =))))
Have you actually read on your operators site how low the upload speeds can get?
I'll tell you, as low as 20kb/s :)))))
What usb? show me that mini usb port on iPhone and how you use it without itunes =))))))))
Oh, and a N97 with a changed theme that complains about effect's while turning th phone sideways instead of horizontal is not tricking anyone;)

[deleted post]SO, where's your qwerty dial? http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_7710-pictures-921.php
In case you (probably) didn't know a movie can get quite large so sending it w via email would mean splitting it in tiny archives, which, again you can't do on the iPhone.
And what, do you think documents have only a few kb? a decent powerpont can easily reach 50mb depending o what you're showing - for an iphone a few kb since there's not much to show :)))))
Tips&tricks:
Did you know?
-that BT has no file size limit unlike most email providers :)))
Happy cuttin' archivin', splittin' uploadin' downloadin' unarchivin' watchin' a video on your iPhone (sent by mail) :))))))) ==))))))))

[deleted post]Who are the billions that you speak of? Lol. You and that other guy are not the billions of users ok. Stop making up numbers.
When you are outdoors hiking, or in underground tunnels, or in some remote area, I don't think transferring songs via bt is your priority, lol. Gosh, your scenarios are comedic. People would rather email videos and pictures because you send those files at your convenience. You won't be stuck right next to the other person while waiting for the file to completely transfer. That's ridiculous. I mean why would I bt when I can touch a photo, send by email, and I am done.

even 4G is filled with buttons on the sides:

"Hey Guys, there's the most amazing sunset outside"
I actually wanted to send the video of you trying to plug a micro USB into an iPhone's dock and wondering why it doesn't work, that I was sending =))))))
Anyway It went pretty fast as I beamed it over, not having to wait for the attachment to be uploaded to the email server (much slower than BT), not having my friend waiting for the email attachment of 50MB to be verified for 10 minutes si it doesn't have viruses, and not having to wait while it downloaded again :)))))))
Smooth this BT technology it is ===)))))))
Enjoy using your data plan to send%recieve hundreds of mb of files:)))))

[deleted post]You must be pretty boring to go camping with...
Picture the scene, you burst into the tent clutching your phone...
"Hey Guys, there's the most amazing sunset outside"
People start getting up to go have a look...
"No, no, no stay there and pull out your phone's I'll BlueTooth a photo of it"
Is that the sort of thing you mean?
