But what we're not talking about is Samsung's Semi-Conductor business just as we're not talking about Apple's Macintosh Computer or Professional Software Suite business.

We're talking about just how many mobile phones Apple sold. And not any mobile phone - but 8.1 million HIGH END and EXPENSIVE mobile phones.

Apple will never surpass Samsung because Samsung is not only a designer but also a SEMI CONDUCTOR company the world's 2nd largest chip maker, world's 1st largest memory and LCD/OLED maker. Apple may ditch Samsung design for their next gen iphone processor like they did with the ipad but still Samsung manufactures their processors. Every product Apple sells it's also contribution to Samsung's profit that's why Samsung is expected to hit a record 4 billion profit. If an Apple Fanboy bash Samsung he's nothing but a hypocrite because the iPhone is 75% made by Samsung's blood

If not - send them back to manufacturing and get them changed into 3GS units. The case design and screen are the same. Refurbish them as 3GS's instead.

But what Apple CAN do is pay upfront for the manufacture of MILLIONS of iPhone's. Other companies can't do that.

Applke can say "Here's the money, make us 5 million iPhone's for the month of June and distribute them around the world. And then another 6 million for August."

As I said - there aren't many other mobile phone companies with the money or power to do that AND sell all of them. That's why profits are sooooo big.

Instead, Samsung was the only phone maker that manufactures its own phone, starting from the parts to the end product. Thats the power of Samsung. 9 million output was produced by a taiwanese/chinese company. Thats dwaft compares to millions of chips, cellphone and LCD panels produce by samsung

You've really got to hand it to Apple. They sold 8.5 MILLION iPhone's in one quarter??

And the iPhone isn't exactly a cheap phone - it's a premium price phone!!!!

But you also have to admire their manufacturing output. So many people believe that HTC and other companies make better phones (maybe it's true). But one thing that these companies CANNOT do is match Apple's manufacturing output. Apple have the ability to literally supply millions and millions of iPhone's all over the world. This is the main reason they make so much profit.

Yes profit margins are high. But HTC and other companies don't have anywhere near the manufacturing output that Apple has. Apple has the money to pay their suppliers and assemblers (Samsung etc) millions of dollars for millions of parts.
