Chen has publicly said (in front of the camera).

He wants to merge BlackBerry 10 o.s with android.

At the moment it is not possible to increase the android runtime in bb10's qnx hypervisor from 4.3 to 5.1 or 6 and get the results they want. Hopefully they achieve that goal eventually. I believe they're on the right path by tweaking android. Apps like the hub need to be native android in order to be integrated with apps like hangouts or messenger.

Will be buying the priv soon, but I know what annoys me about ios and android. BlackBerry 10. Is a lot better as an o.s. Pity about the apps.

You should not give up. I like choice and blackberry OS is beautiful. Keep up improving and differentiating from competition. As customer I like these characteristics from OS: performance, easy of use, battery life and simple elegant design different from others. Don't like bloatware OS full of features and apps you don't use and cannot uninstall, high resource demand OS, bad battery life. Just keep it simple, elegant and fast.

b0ne, 09 Jan 2016nope, when the support stops then it's deadBBOS 7 is still supported without any further development. But there are no new handsets with BBOS 7. So, as per your logic, BBOS 7 is not yet dead!

Mr. Chen learns from Nokia's past mistake.

remember when Elop announced that they would stop using symbian and move to Windows?
the sales of symbian phones went south and brought more problems to Nokia.
and we all know what happened to Nokia now.
so I'm pretty sure that this statement is just a lip service to maintain the current BB OS10 market until they're ready to move completely to Android.
