Nokia teases us with some full-res N8 camera samples, we drool

27 April, 2010
There are so many things going around Nokia N8. In quite an unusual marketing move Nokia just published some "untouched" camera samples. Whoa! The camera on that thing is definitely a nice bit of kit...

It looks better than the competition.
My older, super-sophisticated Nokia has done its job pretty well. Symbian included. I'd get the new gadget if I could afford it.

Anonymous, 30 Apr 2010I dont know why people always complain about the symbian ... moreSymbian is utter rubbish, as I've said before they use it because they bought the rights to it, so technically own it, therefore no licensing fees to pay out.

It's a crap cheapskate OS which needs to be consigned to the "Recycle Bin" it's absolutely dire.

When you compare it to the silky smooth way that the Iphones intuitive interface works then there's no comparison.

They (Nokia) are too slow & too late, everyone bar Blackberry have already been here and moved on. As for the pictures without proof that they were taken on the phone (EXIF data) then there's nothing to say that they couldn't have been taken by either a compact digital camera or low-end DSLR.

I dont know why people always complain about the symbian

symbian just need a fresh looks and nokia have almost finished done the s3.

I am using s1; it is easy to use and feature rich, good enough for every tasks everage users do on their phone, if symbian is bad then go for meego this end of the year

you cant compare non multitask iphone os with android and symbian, that is just unfair

The n8 is not a smartphone w/ camera features, but rather a camera w/ smartphone features, which I think is a smart move for nokia. Symbian clearly can no longer compete with other os's, so it makes sense that nokia diverts its focus to camera features where it could stand out or at least be highly competetive in that area.

You won't get such quality photo when release.

All commercial photos by Nokia is not 100% untouchable.

The Symbian ^3 needs to be catch up a lot hardwork before it can fight with the rest Smart OS in market.

Is time Nokia .............. to change or said bye forever.

The only way this phone would do well is if Nokia would price it under $400.

It’s a shame anyone gave Eldar’s so called ‘review’ at mobile-review any time or credibility whatsoever. The man is a well known Nokia-hater who has had conflicts with Nokia before and been slapped down by them.

As for the US tech blogs, sorry, but they simply don’t have a clue what they are talking about. The US tech media is well known globally for being ignorant about mobile generally – they live in such an insular, inward looking world, and are highly defensive and protective about home-grown technology (Android, iPhone).

The truth is the N8 makes current and rumoured iPhone and Android devices look like over-priced toys. The truth hurts – it hurts Android and iPhone fans, and it hurts US tech blogs who love their home-grown tech. So they slag off and do down non US tech. I’ve seen it lots before. Luckily the US is actually not a very important mobile market at all, only about 8% of world’s mobile users live there. So I think we can live with the US, loud and proud as they are, not appreciating Nokia technology. It’s their loss.
