Android 5.1-based CyanogenMod 12.1 nightly now available for Galaxy Nexus

18 January, 2016
The Samsung-made Galaxy Nexus was launched way back in 2011, and officially got updates till Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. However, alternative Android OS developer Cyanogen kept the device alive, releasing a stable Android 4.4-based CyanogenMod 11 ROM for the device in 2013.

Galaxy Nexus is OK-ish, but not much.
I can speak this coz I have used most Nexus phones, from Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus (still have this as a spare phone), Nexus 4 (sold after 1 month, can't stand the lack of USB-OTG support), Nexus 5 (my beloved one).

[deleted post]The rom is still based on stock kitkat rom (i can tell from the screenshots)... but the dev did good job to mimic Lollipop.

The Samsung Galaxy V SM-G313HZ which is running android 4.4.2 is also having a custom ROM to android 5.1

Holy crap. Holy crap yes. We all talk about these newer flexible models having the latest and greatest use of new software builds, but if you have the likes of the HTC HD2 and original Galaxy Nexus running 2016 software builds... Well it proves that newer =/= better.
