There is no substitute for the image performance and portability of this phone camera in good lighting conditions. Even in 2022, but unfortunately the battery is not replaceable….. The only way to go in 2022 if you want this camera’s image quality is to buy a used Leica t and a elmarit tl 18mm which will cost you $1000 - worthy upgrade nonetheless.

Does the CM10 support Android Marshmallow or Nougat?

I have the original CM1 but sadly, the battery will not hold enough power for a day's use anymore. Still quite angry that Panasonic is not making a CM2. Lots of idiots here, who clearly knows nothing about cameras, which the CM1/10 is not for. When it came out 2+ years ago, it has a flagship SD801 with 2gb RAM and a 4.7" FHD screen. While an ipoo has a better f/number, does it also have a 1" sensor? My CM1 will still be taking pictures at base ISO with no noise while your ipoo is using ISO1000+. My CM1 hardly ever needs to waste time with HDR modes or fake FOD modes. Try that with your ipoo!

harlekkin, 19 Jan 2016This ain't a smartphone but a smart camera. It won't sell, ... morethe zoom can be useful if say a shady guy wants to take pics of an ex-gf or a nu-girl hes stalkin. if it fails there then it still can be used to take pics of naked-penguins at night or something. nide liikin device nontheless.

Last one flopped badly, the same goes for this CM10.
Japanese phones and smartphones are done for the world.

This is not a smartphone.
CM10 is Android based camera, which has exactly same specification with DMC-CM1 but phone function.

The "Lumix" text is the only difference between the CM1 and this (edit: also lens cover is black vs silver). On CM1 it is black. But here it looks photoshopped.
On the CM10 (why not CM2 ?) I would have expected optical image stabilization and xenon flash, compared to the CM1.
If they put a Snapdragon 820 and Android 6.0 in it, I may consider it instead of the Galaxy S7 or LG G5.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2016It's a CAMERA,you have read the article ? why we don't have... moreWhat? You're crazy! All they have to do is upgrade the chip then slam a zoom system to an existing smartphone. You react like Tim Cook re: Surface.

This ain't a smartphone but a smart camera. It won't sell, it's been tried before and it failed miserably. And nobody is impressed by an f/2.8, seriously.
Last but not least, the image quality will only just be marginally better than that of the latest smartphones, so there's really no need to carry this brick around unless optical zoom is a total must.
