Apple has suddenly created a need that wasnt there before. It's brought awareness to a product that was niche before. Apple are smart that way, they know how to steer a market. It will take 2 years and the majority of oems will have similar products.
That's what Apple R&D achieves.

Getting a new handset automatically every 12 months without thinking about it and without locking yourself to a Telco is the smartest thing ever, and Samsung didn't come up with it.

Idk why people here saying Samsung is copying Apple. Guys, not all Apple's doing are bad.
And this leasing program is actually good. It helps you to upgrade your phone with cheaper prices.

There is in Finland already Sonera upgrade for Samsung and Apple phones. S6 and so on. You pay 1st year 60-70% total value and after 1 year can change to new model.
