You said this is a great phone and 2 major aspects of a smartphone you said that are mediocre. Yet a great phone. Man you contradict yourself. The major problem is that you don't even realise it.

Given the camera issue is fixable software problem.. I'll give this phone a HOT!!! Fix the camera and the phone will get BURN AND MELTING!!!

hi gays. i am a big fan of mobile phone. i have used all the good brands this is the first time i am using huawei phone and i find mate 8 is very good phone.

Im a big note series fan but credit where credit is due, this phone is definitely hot. But i stand by my opinion that it would have been hotter with a QHD res or even just an FHD amoled display. Ips lcd time and again fails to stand out. It's good, but not near great.

I actually like this phone since i don't do any intensive gaming these days, so the battery life would be magic. The only concern is the software update schedule though. I am fan of Sony so to say that i like this phone is something. Sony, get real now with REAL 2 days of battery life.

After reading review from Anandtech and GSMarena, I'm kind of skeptical about buying this phone. I was looking forward to buying a 6inch phone to replace my Z ultra.
IMO they should have thrown in AMOLED screen and T880-MP12 GPU. Would've been on par with SD 820 and EXYNOS 8890. I will wait for the price in India, may be that can sway my decision ;-)

with how huawei has progressed and where it is now it might be the biggest oem in a few years to come. i personally love the emotion ui with its lack of an app tray and that processor seems too good to be true. wish you guys at gsm arena could just give a homie the review unit as a gift because i am such a huawei junky haha. keep up with the reviews, i more than enjoy reading them

Nice screen size. The UI and the UX are similar to my son's iphone. It runs very smooth, implying the speed of executing apps is fast, better than the iphone and my HTC one M9.
