WhatsApp has 1 billion users since dropping subscription fees

01 February, 2016
Not too long ago, WhatsApp decided to drop the $1 a year subscription fee. And since WhatsApp has promised to never show ads for the sake of their own users, it only leaves us wondering how the messaging platform is planning to make money.

I think they intend to make money with something to do with businesses and extra features of some sort. But that was just a rumour I think.

$0.99 per year was a very reasonable charge.

The best feature of Whatsapp is Google Drive integration on Android.
I just wish this feature should be cross platform on atleasr on Ios and Android. Google don't support Windows Mobile.
I know on iOS iCloud provide same feature but that is also not a cross platform option.
The main feature of Cloud is flexibility on device and platforms.

its no need to make money. the fund will come from invisible fund . if its lucky enough , its even no need fund to support it. just a spam & rumours already make your whole country shaken by just whatsapp, why its need additional function to help whatapps company make money ?

With Facebook involved in everything, you cant ever be sure of what they will do with your information.
Text safe people. No sensitive info online.
