Anonymous, 02 Feb 2016we don't want copycat over here anyway Are you actually being serious?
Xiaomi has a wide range of great and affordable phones, they are well known for quality.
Them coming to more regions will drasticly increase the need for other companies to sell their phones at a better price or make bigger and better phones.
Take the mi5 for example, what phone is that trying to copycat? Spoiler, te answer is non.
Watch other brands, like samsung, htc, iphone... they are either repeating the exact same as the year before or they are copying someone elses design.
It's not because xiaomi is chinese, that it should therefore also be a copycat.
Now if you take meizu, then I would agree with you that they mostly coppy apple.
But even if they came to us or eu mzrkets, that would either make apple finally drop their ridiculous prices or just be survival of the fittest.

Xiaomi in my case pushed an update which locked my bootloader and the notes for the update mentioned nothing about it. To unlock the bootloader you can presumably apply which I did but the wait times for codes are enormous and many people were being rejected. I simply took my phone and threw it in the garbage. That's where it belongs given what Xiaomi has done.

I liked their phones for a while but as a company, they are rather not very intelligent. As of right now, I could careless if they sold or didn't sell their products in USA.

Great news hearing that Xiaomi does not want to enter the US market. The other manufacturers developed a stupid and unfair habit of selling their phone cheap in the US and very expensive in other parts of the world like Europe, and I am glad Xiaomi is not tempted by this strategy.
