All this movement of Apple, is actually a marketing action. Simple and unimpressive. Nothing. That and Samsung are in a crisis of ideas. That appear such actions of theirs.

using a iphone 5 besides my xperia z1, I will change my Android at some point but won't upgrade my iphone untill it dies, it is still going strong, performance is fluid, has a decent battey life. A brand new iphone costs too much and honestly i don't see the necessity to spend any money to buy the latest iphone which I don't need at all. I'm sure many people feel the same way, not everyone is that much rich to buy a brand new flagship every year :)

perhaps those people just haven't upgraded their phones because iphones are so ridiculously over priced compared to what their new list price was a couple of years ago, there's inflation and there's blatant greed, we all know apple likes to deal with the latter!

"These numbers confirm that one-third of the active iPhones users are loving their 4” display and aren’t exchanging it for a bigger one"
Thats not a statment you can make from that data, thats a pure assumption.
you are also assuming that none of the owners of those models wouldnt mind a bigger screen (they might not actually like 4", but have just kept the phone as they cant afford to change it)

The reason they may still be holiding on those models could be because they dont feel the need to upgrade every new model. Some poeple keep phones for many years until they dont function before upgrading.

I doubt that the 5se or 6c or whatever they choose to call it is going to sell all that well. The reason why 33% of all active iPhones are 4" models is because the used market makes them affordable for people that must have an iPhone but can't afford the latest models.

Why pay $200 on contract for a 5se when you can buy a used 5s for $200 outright?
