Okay. I get it. Now, let us compare.

Solid and premium build-quality, present on almost all of the flagships.
Fingerprint scanner, flagships has this (btw, US version has this as well, u jsut dont know it).
IP68 certified, not all phones is dust proof and water resistant.
Camera (pixels, autofocus), not everyone has an af as fast as sony's.
Design, not everyone has a stunning design same as sony's.
Bloatwares, the preinstalled apps are necessary and doesnt eatup much space unlike other brands. After service, in our region sony's service is good as apple's.
Updates, sony is good on updates. (better somewhat delayed but optimized than early but buggy).
Wireless charging, u can use its magnetic dock.
      UI is fast and smooth.
SD card, always present on very sony's device. Unlike other flagships.
SD810, u know very well that it has heating issues ryt? Then that is why sony has this cooling system.
Just dont tell me about those benchmarks, because that wud not reflect or be seen on real life use (and that accordingto u guys).

Tho price might high. But I think it is somehwat reasonable for the specs.

laoplayer, 06 Feb 2016We can tell that your a Sony Fanboy. I bet you got a Playst... moreStarting conversation and ending it with insults says a lot about your common sense .

I don't mind the insults so I will be polite and reply to you.

1.Fanboys are idiots such people disgust me I like all tech except things made by apple and any company that fallows their ways.

          2. I don't have a PlayStation at home or any other game console.I play games on my PC and there is nothing made yet that can beat that experience playing game on powerful PC and having any game I want for free(torrents) and if I really like it then i go and buy it for my collection.

          3. Which phone you will buy is none of my concern and honestly I don't care,in my previous post I only stated that those two phones are very different and not even close to be the same.

          4. I don't use Sony phone because of it's brand name but because it offers the most features I really need and not bunch of gimmicks like some other phones from other brands.

5.They are in business because Sony is amazing company and they can suffer losses in one or two departments and bye the way their mobile department started in red because they had to acquire Ericsson shares back in 2012.

Do you have some more insults to trow at me? Since you are a someone with common sense...

What "logistical problem" may that be if everything is already in place? Sony US not letting go of their old ways...

The US variant is coming WITH a fingerprint scanner. Its just disabled in software. A few small commands from ADB allow you to enable it.

Half assed? It comes with everything including the fingerprint scanner, except the fingerprint scanner is just disabled. A small software mod allows it to be enabled.

What's that you say, SONY? You are losing a million dollars a day on your smartphone business? I wonder why? Your phones are nothing more than warmed-over versions of previously warmed-over also-ran phones. You need a real home-run now to run with the big dogs here in the US. And now you send us this half-assed Z5 to the US with no fingerprint scanner. What the hell are you thinking SONY?

If the Z6 is just another warmed-over version of some previously warmed-over half-assed phone, forget it. And you need to get your customer service and warranty support in order as well. You don't take good care of your customers at all.

Price is a bit much for an older phone that is trying to find a niche. $399 for the compact and I'd be very intrigued. Maybe retail stores will price it logically (not at MSRP).

Why would anyone want to buy a $700+ SONY smartphone from Amazon, eBay, or some other third-party re-seller, with no warranty? SONY needs to sell their phones on their own website and back up their products with world-class warranty and top-notch customer support.....like Apple.

If I need warranty support on my SONY product, I expect SONY to stand up and help me no matter where in the world I am when I need service. Don't tell me to take or send my phone back to the country or place of original purchase. Either you have a warranty and you stand behind your products, or you don't.

At the present time, your warranty service and customer support stinks, so I don't think you stand up and take care of your customers very well at all. For most buyers, this is a big big issue with SONY products, and a major deterrent to buying one of your smartphones. You really need to fix this immediately. Your warranty should be always honored world-wide at any SONY authorized warranty service center.

SONY has ignored and crapped on the US market for way too long. If you expect to be a major player in the smartphone business it's way past time for you guys to start taking the US marketplace seriously. The US market is the world's largest, most important, and most affluent market in the world, yet you still insist on focusing your resources and time on India and SE Asia where most people can barely afford to buy a loaf of bread, much less one of your over-priced also-ran phones. And why would you even think about sending about sending us the Z5 with no fingerprint scanner? What the hell are you thinking?

Why don't you quit wasting your resources and stop looking for love in all the wrong places and give us a great phone right here in the US. Stop trying to sell us your warmed-over versions of previously warmed-over also-ran phones and get it together SONY. The Z6 must have the following, at minimum, to be a real homerun, especially in the US marketplace:
                                  1. Better faster camera. The Z5 has a pretty good camera, but "pretty good" is just not good enough anymore.
                                  2. More reliable fingerprint scanner that works the first time every time.
                                  3. Brighter clearer display screen. How about AMOLED?
                                  4. real IOS, not some funky half-assed hybrid system of your own design.
                                  5. 3000+ mAh battery with wireless quick charging
                                  6. Less bloatware (preferably zero bloat)
                                  7. Forget about 4K, pressure sensitive touch display, and dinosaurs in my pictures. These are worthless gimmicks that only run up the price. Get the basics right.
                                  8. And most important, you must include world-class customer service and warranty support, which you currently suck big-time at.
                                  9. If you really want to sell your phones in the world's biggest marketplace, then you need to have a full-blast advertising campaign covering all media, including print and TV.
                                  10. Price your phones competitively. Your phones are too expensive for an also-ran phone.
                                  11. Put your new Z6 on your own SONY on-line website on day-one of release, and sell it unlocked for a very very competitive price.

These are the things SONY must do to run with the big dogs in the world's biggest and most important marketplace. I am really wanting to get the Z6, but I will pass if it's just another warmed-over version of the Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4, etc. etc. SONY needs a home run and they need it now.

Also, quit releasing so many phones so close together. One per year is perfect, and you only need one excellent phone, not dozens of different but similar "fair to good" models.

I don't own anything Apple makes, but they do a lot of things right (especially customer support), and that's why they dominate the market. SONY, you need to take notice.
It's time for SONY to get their act together and give us the smartphone we really want. You are giving away the business to Apple and Samsung. And now the Chinese are at your heels. You better get it together....now.

AnonD-265341, 06 Feb 2016You obviously don't know the meaning of logistics.Obviously you don't know everything is now done in China, therefore calling it a "logistics problem" to put a fingerprint sensor in the US model when the same factory is already doing it to the rest of the world is more than a silly argument.

At least it's consistent with what we have come to expect from Sony in the US.
