Originality, authenticity, nostalgia, uniqueness, immortality, etc are the least words to mention about BlackBerry. Who can deny this beautiful sense of owning a Blackberry?

The words above do worth to be paid for as much as possible. So let it remain unique as BlackBerry customers are unique.

Buy BB if you are an idiot. If BB is willing to terminate support and kill off its own BB 10 phones what makes you think they won't terminate support and kill the Android phone department and focus on BB messenger and enterprise?

Or is it better to charge more, so you remain exclusive? I wonder if you think that a phone can still be exclusive, if the price is cheaper?

Dark Prince, 07 Feb 2016I think BB company need to make their designed a bit unique... moreFor any executive user, that misses their old keyboard on their phone, then the Priv will be very attractive. These people are in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, so the *touch screen world* you're talking about, means less to them. This phone was primarily designed for senior executives, not pupils or street sweepers.

AnonD-82756, 07 Feb 2016I don't think its just 200 employees they will be losing it... moreBut Blackberry are not targeting people that buy *affordable* handsets. They're targeting executives that have high end phones, but want the things that Blackberry offers. The keyboard is very attractive to some people, still, and the enterprise security is better than KNOX from Samsung. Board members will want this; not people in the typing pool. And not rickshaw drivers either.

AnonD-82756, 07 Feb 2016I don't think its just 200 employees they will be losing it... moreWhat they needed to do was get in on android earlier and establish themselves as 'premium android'. Better late than never though. BBOS was doomed to die since 2011.

I don't think its just 200 employees they will be losing it will be the loyal BB fan base that stayed with the BB OS through thick and thin to now be told no more we are going Android.

BB will struggle to compete imo even on Android OS reason being they out price every damn handset they make and with a market already saturated with affordable Android handsets I think BB may have killed themselves now.

I think BB company need to make their designed a bit unique. Remove the qwerty keypad since we are in touch screen world. The last designed they made is very awful stuff, where did you find a a touch screen with qwerty keypad along with it it is just them for so long. Now a days people are much avid fan of touch screen, so need for the old school stuff here. But still it is a best brand as well.

BB is losing because all the fair-weather fans (i.e. the casuals) are lured away by Android and IOS, which are all the craze right now.

When you have entire governments spending billions to target BlackBerry devices, do you really feel safe? Their top talent left years ago (poached by Google, Apple) and the bottom feeders they have left are worried about keeping their jobs. Their messenger isn't even fully encrypted and instead of allowing an independent third party audit of their stack, BlackBerry changed the subject and blamed everybody but itself for even bringing the subject up.

We already know that QNX is broken. It was designed for automation, with speed and not with security in mind. Every. Single. Car. that has been in the news recently for being hacked remotely was running on QNX. Do you really trust BB10, which is also built on QNX, which is in "maintenance mode" by BlackBerry, and being maintained by the bottom feeders in the software industry? Do you really trust that BB10 is going to be secure when you have everybody attacking it, and BlackBerry themselves giving up on the OS?

                        It's over.

BBRY should have just put in more ram and a faster processor on their BB7. people were far more used to that operating system, much more easier to use and has more apps

Blackberry should go back to its roots and go back to being the best choice for the white-collar worker - they were the people BBOS was designed around. Sure white-collar workers are not particularly exciting customers, but they are a more stable market compared to say, unemployed gamer types. Besides, white-collar workers don't waste time on useless things like games and movies anyway.

Offer enterprise-scale options for corporations. Give them perks, partner with them. Deliver. Make apps for them.
