AnonD-329265, 09 Feb 2016So thats why they are working on moto G 2016 and moto X 201... moreYes, and they will be Lenovo-branded. With Lenovo quality. Just like they kept the "Thinkpad" brand around and turned it into a piece of shit while hoisting it on people who didn't know any better.

Bad idea to buy anything Motorola, or Lenovo for that matter.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2016Lenovo trying to get rid of that old Motorola inventory as ... moreWrong analysis. Lenovo is not getting rid of anything. "Moto" is here to stay. They just want to make the "Moto" brand under Lenovo instead of making it as a separate mobile division.

Motorola haven't used the word "Motorola" in any of its smartphones since 2013 (unlike Samsung or HTC wherein the company name is printed).
They use "moto" eg. "Moto X" and only the signature "M" is printed on their phones.
Nothing will change and Lenovo will still use the moto "M" logo under its umbrella.

If you're buying a phone for less than 200 USD, you probably don't give a hoot about updates. Updates are a very nice thing to have, but why make such a big deal of it? Your phone will not magically die if it doesn't get updated.

There are Android devices still on Jellybean (over 3 years old) that run fine, and will still run many apps decently. Anything on Lollipop now will probably be still good for another couple of years even without updates - by then you'll want a new phone anyway.

Lenovo trying to get rid of that old Motorola inventory as fast as possible.

Hey people, don't buy this, Lenovo is killing the Motorola brand in 2016. That's why you see all these "price cuts" and attempts to sell through non-traditional methods. This will never get updates. Motorola is dead.
