All phones with high speed internal memory don't use sdcard slots anymore, it really cuts the performance down, its like having a ssd and run your games and applications from a DVD... It just increase 5x the loading time.

You know, there is a feature in Android where you can install a Launcher and get the app drawer if you require it so desperately. I would agree that SD card should be included and as per the rumors it seems that the phone will have a hybrid sim tray, you can either use an additional sim or an SD card. If not however, it does not matter if you sync your photos/videos with Google Drive. You can easily free up space on your phone.

Great - a really slim case that won't protect the phone from fall's so defeats the whole point of its existence!
Something else to waste money on & fill our land fill dumps with! :S

I really hope they bring a 128Gb variant also. For my usage 64gb is sufficient but there are people who really want more storage and we have 2016 and I think it is about time that xiaomi closes the storage "gap" between them and some other smartphones out there (i.e. iPhone, Galaxy S6...in terms of storage).

my biggest disappointment with mi5 is it might be coming with single sim support. that would be the deal breaker for me.

The thing is, if you buy proper microSD card class 10, there will be NO problems AT ALL ! He said it's also about the speed... Huh ? How come then cameras, DSLR, and moooore are still using cards ? I know there is many faulty or fake cards, but you can't complain phone ! If he would be soooo concerned about the faulty SD cards, someone would already make an app for recognision of fake cards ! I totally don't buy that kind of explanation...

I'm excited about Xiaomi this year. If they gonna make it right, I'm gonna give it a go. Also...no sd slot? Well...sure, shame, but if you get 64GB or 128GB version (if it'll exist), then it shouldn't be much of a problem. Soon we will see.

I mean, for me it's no difference as I want 4GB RAM version which has 64GB (around 52 to use I guess?). But I think its a shame they are dropping micro sd slot :/

Hugo said in an Interview (check it on YouTube) that xiaomi will not release a flagship device with microSD card slot. Due to its speed, which would slow the phone down.
